This image was sort of for stamp collecting. I like M37 better visually, but that one got imaged last year sometime. 5x1min each RGB between sets of longer images of other things. Minimal processing. I am always trying to get the cluster that will show lots of star colors that look somewhat natural. I think this one is getting close.

Hi Charles,

I was looking at your image and noticed the lines running down the center of the image. The reason that I noticed is that because my ST-10 has developed a "bad column" right smack dab in the middle of the chip. I found it unusual that that would happen. I had a power failure while the chip was cooling and ever since then I've had this effect. It is not a big deal and it can be removed with appropriate dithering during image capture and/or with various data rejection techniques in CCDstack. My question is, does your ST-10 also have a "bad column" right in the middle of the chip?

cheers,

Jeff

Nice image Charlie. I like your expression "sort of for stamp collecting". I have some images that fall into that category and now I know how tro describe them.
