I managed to find Venus tonight and get it on my webcam just a couple of minutes before it set behind a distant building. The seeing was of course terrible at such a low altitude, approx 3 degrees, but I did get it. The attached image is a preliminary processing of the avi file; I think I can find a few better frames to improve it.
Equipment: Celestron Nexstar 5i, ToUCam, f/10, camera set to auto shutter, 5 fps over 90 seconds; taken 8:30 PM CDT (Chicago area) about 15 minutes after sunset.
