Jupiter with Vesta 690K and LX200

Hi all,

I christened my "new" old LX-200 this morning. The seeing was great last night before I went to bed, so I set the alarm for planet watching. The alarm went off at 4 a.m. I got up at 5:40 a.m. 8^)

Needless to say, the scope was plagued with tube currents and the seeing wasn't as good as last night when I foolishly left the scope inside and just used the big binoculars. Hey, a guy can be tired can't he?

Anyway, this is a five minute, 1500 frame sequence shot with the Vesta and a 2X barlow processed in Registax and cleaned up in Photoshop. Not prefect, but getting better.

Enjoy,

Paul
