Hey guys...
I have not really been imaging for a year or so. But I use to post on here a few years back. But I am back out and I am having trouble with focus on Mars. I have an Orion Skyview 8" reflector with the standard focuser. But I do have a Helical focuser dropped in for fine focus. I have checked collimation by eye and it looks ok.
My question is, is it Mars is small this year and I am limited in my magnification with my scope or what.
I am shooting with a webcam through dual Orion Barlows which also may be an issue. I have considered getting a 5X although those are pricey..at least a good one, and I would hate to drop the cash if my scope just can not handle that.
I have had success on Jupiter with this setup. I know a lot depends on seeing but my images just seem soft.either way, any ideas would be appreciated.
