Hi, Last night the seeing was pretty good but it was still hard to get a round disk. This is a 20 second exposure at 400 ASA using the same setup as the Uranus shot. If you thought Uranus was boring then this will make up for it :-)

Enjoy!

Joe

A single shot will always be noisy. The key is to stack hundreds or even thousands of seperate images to reduce noise. Then you can do more advanced processing to bring out detail. Here is an example of Uranus with 150 images stacked: http://geogdata.csun.edu/~voltaire/roland/uranus.html

Well, the color is good! Have you considered (as Roland suggests) shooting a bunch, and stacking them? Doing this kind of work with a DSLR is certainly not the same ballgame as using a webcam/computer setup, but even 20 or 30 frames, when stacked, can improve things a lot. I've had some success with Jupiter that way. In any case, it looks like you are having some fun!
