On Sunday night I finished asteroid observing with pleanty of time befoe dawn so decided to image NGC 891 with filters.

The image below is a combination of 3 10-minute unfiltered images and 2 10-minute images each through red, green and blue filters.

ST-8E CCD and an 8" LX200 at prime focus.

Cheers.

Maurice

Hi Maurice. I have the same telescope as you, and am considering which SBIG camera to buy. Any reason you went with the 8E instead of some other? I've been considering the 8E or the 10E. Is this photo above the final resolution of the photo, or do you get a higher resolution shot out of the camera? My ultimate goal is to have enough pixels to get decent 8x10 prints of my photos.

Also, do you have a website where you're chronicling your efforts? It would be a great resource for me considering I have the same equipment. In any case, I hope to be up-and-CCDing within a few months!
