I use ImagesPlus (http://www.mlunsold.com). With it, I perform my dark and flat frame calibration, alignment, stacking and stretching. I tweak curves and unsharp mask in Photoshop.

Take a look at that ImagesPlus site, there is a Yahoo Group for the software.

Hello James,

I personally use Astroart 3.0 which is very handy for these jobs, as you can easily align (even images obtained in alt-az mode), stack and apply flats and darks automatically by simply draggin the appropriate images in the Preprocessing window which performs all the necessary ops ad gives back a processed image.
The downside is that it is not freeware. Hope this helps somehow.

Ciao

James... I also use ImagesPlus with my Canon Digital Rebel. (It actually has some features which are custom for Canon DSLR's).

It works very well (and best) with 16-bit TIFF's during processing.
