Registering a Camera with Lucam Recorder

Hi there - has anyone on the forum had any correspondence recently from Heiko Wilkens? I've used Lucam Recorder for a while now, but having bought a second-hand Skynyx camera I need to do two things:

I need to 'de-register' an existing camera from the two I currently have listed, and...

I need a new licence code for my new camera. Sounds easy, but...

I can't find any direction for de-registering a camera and

I believe Adirondack Video Astronomy is no more... (web link still on the Lucam Recorder page, but doesn't seem to go anywhere)

and I can't get any response from the email link for requesting a licence (heiko at astrofactum dot de)

Does anyone know anything to help? Thanks Gerry

Hi Gerry,

I just went through this a few months ago. I emailed Heiko at two different email addresses more than a couple of times. Out of the blue about 5-6 WEEKS later he contacted me and I was able to purchase the software and register my camera. He will eventually respond, but it is extremely irritating to have no response for such a long period of time, especially when you are trying to be a CUSTOMER!! The sofware is worth the money and wait, but it isn't the way I would conduct business, that's for sure. You are correct...Adirondack is no longer in business so there are no business partners in the USA to work with. This compounds the problem. If you want the software you are going to have to wait it out. Maybe send a repeat email every week or two until you get a response.

Hope this helps! 8O

I'm not sure why you want to de-register the camera -- it can
happily support many cameras (at least the more recent
versions do). In any case, you go to
Info > License Management, click on the one you want to
de-register, and then hit either "Remove License" or
"Delete License" depending on your version.

My experience communicating with Heiko was similar to yours
-- might take a while to hear back.

There are other softwares which will run the camera.
K3CCDTools will run the camera at full speed and produce an AVI file.
The menus are a bit rough to figure out at first, but its all there.
A color camera will produce a "raw" AVI file which you will need to
Bayer-interpolate in later processing (for example in Registax).
It is something like $50 after the free 30-day trial:

There are no camera licenses, etc., you just plug in the camera
and it goes.
