Uranus

Taken 2 days after opposition with my C11 SCT using EP projection with a 16.8mm ortho and a unmodified Canon XTi. Exposure was 5 seconds at 200asa...and small amount of curves applied in PS7. Mount was a CG11 and the shot was unguided.

Nice work on a tough target! Your mount must have been tracking well to pull that off!

Nice shot, Joe. I've been spending more time looking at the ice giants. It seems everyone is looking at Jupiter and Saturn and not so much beyond them.

Thanks guys...This was easy really. I knew there wasn't any detail to try and capture. All I had to do is get a round disk. As for the mount...it is the stock GC-11 that I bought new back in 1995. I don't know if there is a newer, better replacement gear set out there or not. If its balanced right it always seems to do the job.
