This is my first astro shot with my 20Da. We had an amazing double Iridium flare a couple weeks ago. They were about 7 sec. apart, parallel, and heading north. They ended even with Polaris (bright star at the end of the dimmer flare. Unfortunately there was a very bright full moon that just came up and illuminated the hills just below which made for some very bad sky glow.

Canon 20Da; 24-70 f2.8 @ 24mm; ISO 400, 49 sec exposure @ f4; tripod; and remote timer. Noise reduction was turned off.

Nice shot. It seems impossible but could that be Polaris' mag 9 companion sitting out there?

very nice, what day was this and what location. I had a chance at a double flare a few weeks ago, but missed the 2nd one.

Mine was Iridium 32 on Date: 9/8/05 9:11 PM CST from Houston TX. it was like a -8 at a distance to flare center of 0.68 km

here is my shot
