I thought I'd post some images of a an adapter I made a while back to fit my 28mm threaded Nikon Coolpix 995 to my Pentax XL 7mm eyepiece. I used a couple plumbing parts and step rings. It is a tight friction fit around the eyepiece's rubber grip ring. It also allows the entire zoom range of the 995 to be used without vignetting.

I used my Nikon Coolpix 995 and the homemade adapter with a Pentax XL 7mm eyepiece to capture this image of the moon.
