Hi: I could use some of your collected wisdom. I am relatively new to astrophotography and want to use my Nikon D100 on a Tak 150 at New Mexico Skies this spring. They do not have any DSLR software on their computers and so I must use the Tak focuser/Robofocus combination to manually focus the camera. What do you think is the best way to manually focus a DSLR, and as a corollary, how do the software packages ( Maxim DSLR or DSLR focus) compare. Thanks for your help, Bill Caspe

Maybe use a Hartmann mask and focus through the viewfinder. You need a bright star and a flexible neck but it works.
