So, that same night (01/26, 27F), still 20 feet away from Ivan - I forgot, but Dan was 15 feet away in the other direction on the same overlook !
9 pictures of 5 minutes each at ISO 1600 with the Canon 20D, Takahashi Epsilon 160 (f/3.3), Losmandy G-11 manually guided. Processed with Photoshop with the same "flats". No crop. I boosted a little the nebulae.

Great job JD!

Perfect composition. The detail in the nebulas is very impressive. It's also an effective contrast between the angularity of the eyecatching stars and the amorphous gas clouds. I really like it. I think your best to date.

Gotta hand it to you. Manual guiding these beautiful photos for hours with the wind and temperature in the low 20's. You are one hard core macho man. I'm a hide-in-my-Honda STV wimp!
