This was my first attempt at skyscape photography. Location was Ocean Beach, Fire Island, NY. I scoped out this rock jetty during the day, and low tide was on my side last night. This beach is typically a fairly dark site, but unfortunately the moon was up. Picture was made by merging two 20 sec exposures shot at 1600 iso using PE12 and Neat Image to remove some noise. No dark frame corrections made. StarSpike software was used to add a little artistic rendering. My focus was on the rock jetty so stars were a bit bloated because of the small DOF. Equipment: Olympus E-30 and 14-54 mm Zuiko lens at 14 mm and f2.8. Surprisingly, I was able to pick up a bit of the Milky Way in the moon glow.
