Question about Flats

Hi Folks,

How do you shoot your flats?
- Sunset/Sunrise sky?
- White t-shirt with flashlight?
- How long exposures?

I think I am taking decent photos but can't seem to take decent flats, therefore get serious vignetting which hinders my ability to post-process the image nicely...

Cheers in advance,
Phil

Hi, I do a white t-shirt flat against an overcast sky. I adjust exposure so that histogram slightly favors the left. I also take flats at every 30 degrees of camera rotation.

Various ways, but my favorite is piece of milk white plastic over the aperture, pointed at a clear blue overhead sky.
