I am looking to get into astrophotography and was looking at the different EPs for guiding. I know that normally you want the best EP you can afford, but for just guiding I am thinking I can get away with a lesser and therefor cheeper EP. since I am not looking for detail, just the position of a star. Am I crazy?

Hi Ken,
My suggestion would be to go with an astrometric eyepiece, like the Celestron microguide. As you can see in the photo I posted, it gives you alot of different choices for keeping the star centered. This is also (IMHO), the best eyepiece for getting a proper polar/drift alignment.
