I am looking at the Konica Minolta Dimage Scan Dual IV Film Scanner. Newegg.com has them for $250 and sound like they would do I nice job...I shoot E200 slide film and want to digitze my photos....but I do not want to spend $1000+

Any thoughts?

Hi Edward,

I can't say enough good things about my Epson Perfection 3200, it works great. The attached photo was E100 slide scanned at 3200dpi. I've read many reviews about this scanner before buying it and most think it stands up well when compared to film scanners in the same price range.

I have had mine awhile and Epson has now replaced it with the Epson Perfection 4870. From what I've read about it, sounds like Epson didn't drop off the quality at all, just added finer resolution and more tools like Digital Ice technology.

The software that come with is also nice, like Photoshop Elements 2.0. I saw that Newegg has the 4870 for $383.00, but you should be able to find refurbed 3200s for under $300 also.
