My cat Astro

This cat showed up one day on our back poarch and adopted the wife and I.

I could not think of a name for him right away.

It was the month of May, so I setup my 8 inch SCT to do a bit of DSI imaging from the front yard.

We live in the city, but close to some woods, so when I saw a shape sneak past my feet I was a bit concerned. I shined my red light down at the critter and found out it was our newly adopted cat. His name quickly became Astro, and each time I go out to the front yard for a few minutes of observing, he joins me.

There's nothing better than a lazy winter morning, sitting by the fire, reading the Sunday paper...

Meow!

That is a nice looking cat. My cats like to go out back observing with me too. They have learned to keep 5 to 6 feet away though, as I am not always concentrating on their whereabouts. As an aside, if you play with your cat with a red laser pointer, be very careful collimating your big dob in the dark with them around. I got muddy pawprints all over the lower half of my mirror before I noticed what was going on! Ouch....
