MaximDL/CCD and 216XT/LX200

Posted By Brian Swedenburg

Anyone using this combo? i can't seems to get the 216XT to actually track and autoguide. it gives me an "error -1", (of course) "unknown error". wierd thing is, it calibrates just fine, the scope and the star image moves as one would expect....i have been working with Cyanogen, but thier turn around times on service are absurdly long.....thx in advance!
p.s. i can align to get decent images at ~ 10 min exp, after that i need to guide...

Use of Ha filter

Posted By Brian Swedenburg

If i am going to use an Ha filter in a filter wheel, would i need to remove the IDAS filter that is ahead of the FW in the light path? the IDAS filter is screwed on the back of my SCT. TIA!

CCD rotation and attachment to SCT

Posted By Brian Swedenburg

Does anyone know of an attachment made that facilitates the rotation of the CCD camera WRT the back of the scope? something perhaps that locks at a preset degree? or perhaps allows rotation w/o unscrewing the camera from the t-ring? TIA!

dew buster with AO-7

Posted By Brian Swedenburg

Does anyone have any info on the Dewbuster controller and AO-7 combo? with the Kendrick controller the AO-7 exhibits some "jumpiness", apparently every time the controller switches on/off. this results in the mirror deflecting almost to the edge of the field of view. the question is...
does the dewbuster do this as well? TIA

digital camera question

Posted By Brian Swedenburg

i just got my Canon EOS 300D.(digital rebel) my question is: when you have it hooked up to a small 80mm f6 scope, and you focus via the telescope focusing knob, what does the camera try to do with autofocus? especially since there won't be a autofocus lens attached. TIA.

soliciting recommendations for a camera bag.

Posted By Brian Swedenburg

just getting back into SLR's, and now i have Canon 300D. (i prefer to call it that, than "digital rebel"...too dorky.) i also have the 18-55mm lens, and wil be aquiring two more lenses, let's say a 80-300 EF, and a 65mm macro lens. rather than go thru several bags until i figure out what needed and what's not... oh, and a recommendation for the telephoto lens. TIA 8)
