First sin.

I know that the atheists don't believe in sin. I'd like to address what is written in the Bible on this topic. Not whether or not God exists, or need of a savior, etc. More of a discussion of the content of the text, what influence it has on us today. So, I'll start it off.

The first sin, imo, was not "eating the apple". It was attributing to God something He had not said. Remember what Eve said-"If we touch it we will die." The order was to not eat of it. Some time later, we were told "Do not take the name of God in vain." Again, attributing something to God that was not of His doing. I forget where I saw it, and I know this is not an exact quote, but; "Never ever attribute to Yahweh, your deity, anyhting that is evil or destructive." What say you?

Haiti and Glover

I saw a film clip of Danny Glover running his mouth about Haiti. He said,in essence, that Haiti suffered this earthquake because there hasn't been enough done to stop "global warming." I hope that the number of people that think like he does is very, very small.

There are a number of Maryland homeowners that have to watch chunks of their home's yard fall into the Chesapeake Bay. They have tried to get permission from the DNR, or other regulating body, to put in chunks of rock, rip-rap, whatever is available to stop the erosion of their investment. So far it's been denied, because of ths beetle's status as endangered. To change the shoreline would destroy the larvae's habitat. So there it is, again. A bug is more important than a person's home.
Edit: I put this here because of the fear of rising waterlines due to glaciers melting. I heard the story on the radio. Perhaps someone has seen it in print?

Bigger dummy than Bush

The MSM and dems/liberals were all over Pres. Bush for mispronouncing "nuclear." But has there been any comments about the current President mispronouncing "corpsman" not once, but twice in a recent statement? He pronounced it "corpse-man," as in a dead person. I haven't verified it, but heard that he also pronounced the Third Reich as "Riech", as in "cheese". But he'll probably get a pass, as English is his "second language." Just kidding.

Multiple legal systems

We all know, I'm sure, that divorce is regulated by a secular statute.
Now consider a person of a particular religious group, such as Muslims, (altho the faith under discussion doesn't matter,) who have in their religion their own procedures. What I mean is, even if the state says that a Muslim is divorced, the religion's leaders may still consider the couple still married. They, as individuals may not remarry without fulfilling the religion's requirements for divorce.
Should the state recognize the religion's law against remarrying, and deny the individuals a secular marriage license, which would mean marrying outside of the faith?

Did I see, scrolling at the bottom of my TV screeen, that So. Carolina has asked the Feds permission to start using gold and silver coins, now, in case our economy & paper money (and bus tokens)collapses? Or was I hallucinating because of my meds? Again.
