OK Wes, I give up. I am going to turn in my imaging gear and just get a huge monitor so I can view your great images in the scale they deserve.

Just kiddin about giving up but not about the monitor. Your images are always a joy to look at, thanks for sharing.

C102F can't come to focus

I have seen several C102F's with the 2" Lumicon diagonals that appear to come to focus. Not sure if their tubes had been shortened.

If the moonlite focuser is shorter or of a lower profile than the stock focuser, it might just fix your problem.

I use a 1.25 diagonal on mine and have no problems. I also don't have any 2" eyepieces.

More info from local astronomers indicates that two of the objects are stars, here are the links...

The two stars have definately moved in relation to the true nucleus. By the time the world series game is over they should be outside the coma area of the comet.

Nice image! I am accustomed to seeing snow in all my pictures this time of year so your images are a welcome change.

Is your image cropped much or how much optical zooming was required to frame this image at such a distance?

A recomendation for a good spotting scope.

I agree the TV60 is a nice spotter and is hard to beat for sharpness and contrast. That being said I have opted for a TV76 after testing several "spotters" out there. The TV76 is a wonderful scope except I hate to drag it out in a backpack or inclement weather.

After lots of tests I decided on a Pentax 65ED for my backup/backpack scope. It is plenty sharp and contrast is good for the aperture. What I really like is the fact that it takes 1.25" eyepieces. There are times I have even handheld it at 20x for scanning trees at large distances.

When into both Astronomy and Birding I found I was only completely happy with two scopes for the various conditions and situations.

That said if I were limited or just getting started I would start with an astronomical scope and look at getting a spotter later.
