13mm Ethos should i jump?

I'm thinking about buying a used 13mm Ethos. I have always loved my TV Nags and TV WF's.

Some of you guys know i am a planet guy most times but do enjoy wide views of deepsky objects.

I have a Dan Joyce 8" f/6.7 Newt with what could be the best 8" Mirror i have ever owned.

I only have a 1.25" focuser so that leaves out the 2" 17mm Ethos, i also have a 11mm Nag T6 and a Meade 4000 13.8mm SWA. SO you guys think i would love the 13MM Ethos?

I could always sell my 11mm Nag and Meade 13.8mm SWA is i were to keep the 13mm Ethos.

Who can build me a OTA?

I may buy a 10" F/6 OMI mirror. What company can build me a OTA around this mirror? I don't know if Parks is up to the task these days, i had Parks build me a OTA around a 14.5" F/6.5 mirror with rotating rings back in 1990.

Seems most of the companys selling Newt parts like mirror cells, tubes, and spiders back in the 80's have gone belly up.

Parks still sells their fiberglass tubes but their mirror cells are now made out of plastic.

You must have the pre 1976 small round base C5. I know Don Rothman from Astroparts Outlet had the power cord your looking for a few months back. He should be listed under vendors on this site.

Got a 1967 10" F/8 Cave.

I picked up a 1967 10" F/8 Cave this past weekend. There are pics of the scope on Cloudy nites. The mount will need a good tear down and repaint, the OTA and optics are in very good shape for it's age.

old drive corrector question?

My 1967 10" f/8 Cave came with three Astro Labs control boxes. The drive corrector is a Astro Labs model DC12. Anyone ever hear or have any Astro Lab stuff or any info about them?

Guess it never hurts to start out high. I had a chance to use the above eyepiece many years ago and was not that thrilled. Heck for the asking price you can buy a few used Ethos.

Need a recoater for a SCT secondary?

I need help in finding a recoater to recoat a secondary from a early 80's Meade 2080 8" SCT. I have removed the 2ndary from the corrector and need to know what recoater i should go with it?
I just bought this scope that was stored away for about 30 years and looks like it was made today minus the bad coatings on the secondary.
