Lets first try to make a orbital platform , orbiting the Moon first, than on too Mars.

Looking thru my old CG-4 mount manual, it does not say anything about Max weight capacity. But it told me that the mount and weights are 27.5 lbs.

My Refractor optical tube weighs 8.0 lbs.

I throw nothing away.

Thanks Guys for your answers. It is most helpfull in my New endeaver to learn more on the subject. OK, I have another question or two. How do you tell or know what the true value of a meteorite is ?
Just like looking on the Market daily values of gold, silver , copper and other minerals,which goes up and down daily, is there a guideline or table of standards on the values of the different types of meteorites ?
I hate getting riped, like I did when I started with Astro equipment years ago. It was an exspencive lession then. I am trying too avoid that again...

Also, how does a person get into finding these gems, learning the ropes, how about tools to find these gems ?
You guys started this interesting forum with a great help of Herb, with me you open a can of worms of questions. Thanks guys !
