The Royal gold you are using is very poor in the reds. My suggestion would be to use E200 slide film, or Kodak Supra 400 (the older version, which has been discontinued, but can still be bought at unique photo...ask for Kim). Here is a shot taken earlier this year with Elitechrome 200...

This is a wonderful shot! I think that if you change the star to the left, you would also have to change a few others, just to maintain consistancy. My vote would be to leave as it is. Trapizium looks great as well as the detail in the nebulosity. I also think the light spikes comming off the bright star give it a "Heavenly" effect. This one of the better shots I've seen...nice job.
