The GOP Plan For Student Loan Debt

Because corporate America pays its fair share. The GOP says so and they wanna make it permanent. Who could argue with that?...

I guess this is how they payoff their student loans:
"The Harvard Medical School morgue manager, his wife and several others were indicted Wednesday for trafficking human remains stolen from Harvard Medical School and an Arkansas mortuary."

My point(s):
1. I'm sure there are those cases, and likely a lot of them, where students in these situations were duped into a program they couldn't afford, took out loans and were stuck with trying to payoff a huge debt that is an impossibility for them. Private institutions, like the defunct Trump "University", come to mind. So, I think there needs to be a mechanism where some sort of loan forgiveness occurs in these situations.
2. The GOP "plan", if you can call it that, does not provide any relief.
3. The relief the GOP provides is to wealthy corporations thru greater tax breaks and corporate welfare to big oil via subsidies they don't need.

The GOP Plan For Student Loan Debt

"Senate Republicans are unveiling their own plan to tackle student debt as the Supreme Court is set to rule soon on Biden’s student debt relief program."
https://thehill.com/homenews/education/4049576-senate-republicans-introduce-plan-to-tackle-student-loan-debt/

So, basically, the gist of the plan is that the colleges have to tell students that they're taking on serious debt and it's up to students to pay it back...

Have a great retirement and enjoy it with your wife, Jim. Both of you deserve it.
PS: Get some eyepiece time in!

I drop Floyd Blue an email every year on January 1st wishing him a happy new year. I tell him every now and then someone comments on his fan assemblies. I used to observe with Floyd from time to time. Floyd went from visual to imaging to taking a more or less permanent hiatus from amateur astronomy. Are you nuts? The prosecutor who was fired in Ukraine was fired because he wouldn't investigate corruption in his own country. That's why American aid was being withheld. Don't you think the Republicans in the house and senate such as those "investigating" Biden now would be showing this video if it were the video evidence they were alleging existed but now say they don't have or don't know if it exists or if it's real. In fact, the story in the video you link to had already been investigated by a Republican committee in the senate:
"Despite a recently concluded investigation by Senate Republicans that found no wrongdoing by the Bidens, claims to the contrary have continued to circulate on social media." "the claim that Joe Biden threatened to withhold $1 billion from Ukraine to save his son's job is FALSE. The then-vice president leveraged aid dollars to persuade the country to oust its top prosecutor as part of anti-corruption efforts endorsed by other international players that were unrelated to his son, Hunter Biden."

Leave it to Greg to try to recycle an old and disproven conspiracy theory...

My feeling is that Greg is just filling in for Rich by trying to get under our skin by posting nonsensical responses. Rich, upon his inevitable return, will then proceed to tell us how he supposedly made a killing by building someone's house for them. The bottom line: bs is bs, and whether it comes from Rich or Greg, it's still bs...
PS: Happy Father's Day to all you fathers out there...

Sorry Greg, you just don't cut it. If I can't have Rich living in my head rent free anymore I don't know what I'll do. Woe is me.

Now I have to go untwist a few more pretzels and maybe have another brew to go with them.
Ah, now we know the real reason why you retired. You just couldn't deal with reality because you didn't have Rich...

McCarthy: "A Bathroom Door Locks"

Not to be outdone for saying the dumbest thing a Republican representative could say this week, Dan Crenshaw said this:
"Outcome of Titan sub would be different ‘if leadership had just acted sooner"
"Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) criticized the U.S. Coast Guard’s emergency operations for their attempts to save a tourist submersible bound for the wreck of the Titanic, calling efforts an “epic failure of leadership.”
“Now, it’s important to note, that if you had just deployed those assets, they would have arrived on scene by Wednesday morning at the latest,” Crenshaw said in a Fox News interview Thursday."
https://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/4063772-dan-crenshaw-on-titan-submersible-outcome/

Er, ah, the sub imploded in thirty milliseconds. During this interval, everyone one on board were instantly obliterated so it wouldn't matter if the coast guard was sitting on top of the site of the catastrophe:
“The instant collapse of the pressure, the hull would immediately heat the air in the sub to around the surface of the sun’s temperature, as a wall of metal and seawater smashed one end of the boat to the other, all in around 30 milliseconds,...”
