A great ruling by the US Supreme Court FOR the 1st Amendment!! Originating in Colorado too.Posted By Rod Kaufman |

Rod, do you think a black web designer should be forced by the state to create a web page when asked by a white supremacism group? Do you think a Jewish web designer should be forced by the state to create a web page for a Nazi group if asked? I don't. (I get it that Nazi's and whites are not a protected class, but this is not a legal point, it is a point designed to help you see it from the web designer's point of view.)
This case is about free speech, and the Court was very firm that speech can not be coerced by the state. Bravo. Jim
Whereas I'm glad you point out for the cons that the examples you've given are not a protected class and "not a legal point", I think it's you that sees it differently from the web designer's point of view. I think you genuinely see it from an altruistic point of view whereas I suspect the web designer in question does not. Otherwise, you would not have a concocted story behind the legal crusade that precipitated it. I suspect the whole charade was calculated as part and parcel to the relatively recent uprising against a targeted group by the Republican party as a political move to motivate its base and advance its right wing agenda by using conservative members of SCOTUS to do their bidding for them. The GOP party generally functions by creating boogeymen to be afraid of and, in this case, they've targeted a vulnerable community to serve their purpose in doing so. This is the same party that thrives on conspiracy theories of our kids becoming indoctrinated in schools by the group in question, by promoting deep state conspiracy based upon allegations without evidence, and by promoting an imaginary war on woke depending upon the GOP candidate one happens to list to on any given day.
