On edit: Rich, do you think you could make some longer thread titles? You can leave some of it for the actual post, you know. Also, your use of capital letters is really weird, just like the way your buddy Trump uses them.

I wouldn't put much stock into Turley has to say; most of his opinions turn out to be wrong.Originally Posted by James Brown
Smith will get his convictions. In my opinion, the convictions will be overturned. This has happened to Smith before. Quite possibly he was selected for this case because he goes where most prosecutors will not go.
The judge is not helping. The analysis here should be troubling to all who value fair judicial process no matter how much one hates Trump: https://thehill.com/opinion/judiciary/4262942-the-trump-gag-order-should-be-struck-down/

From the perspective of various attorneys who are former federal prosecutors, the Mar-a-Lago case against Trump is a slam dunk so it is not surprising even Turley can see the light of day on this one. Even so, if the case is not being sabotaged by a Trump judge in Florida and it appears it is, there is the prospect of it being heard by pro-Trump Republicans that dominate the particular district where the case will be heard. So, yes, there is a significant risk of bias playing in on all of this but that does not negate the veracity of Jack Smiths case(s) against Trump even if the gag order is overturned...Originally Posted by James Brown
Could be. Still, if any convictions are overturned on appeal, you heard it hear first! (Did you notice that Turley thinks the Mar-a-Lago documents case is a lot stronger? - I agree there too.)
Let me ask you to engage in a little thought experiment:
What do you think the odds might be of Trump being convicted by a Wyoming jury considering Jack Smith's charges?
What do you think the odds might be of Trump being convicted by the Washington DC jury hearing Jack Smith's charges?
This thought experiment underscores the peculiar and political nature of this case, IMO. Jim
Uh oh, now Kenneth Chesebro takes last-minute plea deal, agrees to testify in Georgia election casePosted By Rod Kaufman |
My hope is that he and the Kraken lady unload on Eastman in their court testimony as witnesses for the prosecution. That guy is the brains of the hairbrain scheme behind the whole shebang. He and Turley privatize the same outhouse and ought to share the same flies...Originally Posted by Jim Moscheckhttps://abcnews.go.com/US/kenneth-chesebro-takes-minute-plea-deal-georgia-election/story?id=104169908
"Kenneth Chesebro, a key co-defendant in former President Donald Trump's Georgia election interference case, has taken a last-minute plea deal in which he has agreed to testify in the case.
Chesebro pleaded guilty to a single felony charge of conspiracy to commit filing of false documents and will receive five years' probation and a $5,000 fine, in exchange for agreeing to testify and provide documents and evidence.
The agreement is the first felony plea deal among the 19 defendants in the case. Two other defendants have also taken deals."
Like I said in the other thread, whoever squeals gets the best deals.
II think Willis has a pretty darn good case. Heck, all Trump wanted to do was to find "find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we need". Too bad Raffensperger recorded that call.
