So, whatever happened to the legal adage that "ignorance of the law is no defense against it?" Kavanaugh's reasoning could be carried to the extent applicable to cases like, " I wasn't aware of the prohibition to use various chemicals to manufacture methamphetamines in my lab so I can't be convicted of it and I was merely ensnared by doing so." The possibilities are endless.

Likewise, whatever happened to Clarence's "standard" requiring our gun laws be interpreted as they were back in the 1700s? Did they have bump stocks back then?
