Prediction Time!

Posted By Jim E. Gleason

well...let`s see.

imho, the Pats have a better coach, slightly better RBs, a better QB, better WR`s, better O line, slightly better TE, better LBS, and slightly better DBS.

the Pats are Champs of the better/tougher conference...and, on top of that, won every game on the way to being the conference Champs...and they`re heavy favs. according to the so-called real experts...

they won with blow-outs, close games, ugly games, good games, crappy games, great games, long games, short games, etc., etc., etc.

they won in the rain, in the cold, in the wind, in the snow, in the sun, in the warm, at home, and on the road, on turf, on grass, with/without bad ref calls, etc., etc., etc.

in other words, they`ve won all their games in just about every way conceivable.

for all these reasons and more, i`m picking the...Giants to win 34-31 in 3 OT`s...simply makes too much sense to pick the Pats... 8O 8)

having fun with it...and really just hoping for a good game, smile 8)

Well, it started yesterday, and I can tell you it is as good as it gets. Tropical temperatures, sea breeze, sunny, awesome equipment, lots of people & great views. What more can you ask for?

I still have 5 more days to go, and I know everybody will go home with a big smile on their faces, once this is done...

Here are some pics for you... hope you'll enjoy them. More to come... 8)

Pic#1, yours truly... wink

all excellent photos, Ivan...please keep them coming...

isn`t it amazing how we all become such great guys in real life...as opposed to what we`re often depicted as in certain other over-moderated forums like CN...

looking forward to future updates/photos... smile 8)

Series 5000 127mm(triplet) apo?

Darian Rachal said:

I noticed on the Meade website that these are still shown, along with the 80mm. But it's my understanding that the 127mm is not going to be made. I'm sure this decision occurred some time back and I just missed it. But what was the problem? It looked like a pretty good buy.

apparently, there`s a version of this scope successfully in production in the UK, Japan, etc.

http://astronomica.co.uk/EDTriplets.php?product=407&action=moreinfo&offset=0

called the Astronomica ED 127 from Maxvision, it`s stated to use FPL51 instead of the Hoya equivalent, FDD1, which Meade was going to use...seems to have had a few good reviews so far too over there...this one may be a bit hard to swallow,

http://www.hkastroforum.net/viewtopic.php?t=10276&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

but it`s the only one i`ve found...so far...at least, someone put it in some sort of proper perspective toward the end of that thread, tho.

however, this may be why it`s still listed on the Meade site...it`ll be interesting to see if Meade still somehow brings it`s version to the market...just at a higher price?...and, if they don`t, if someone else does. smile 8)

Best "Pack & Go" setup?

Any thoughts on good to great Pack & Go setups that can be checked at the airport or carried on?

I need something I can travel with so I'm guessing it has to go in a JMI case or something simalar. I'm hoping to learn from your experience rather than learn the hard and $$ way. Thanks!

Here is a sketch of some lunar craters that I saw tonight with a little 50mm Meade Jupiter telescope. I still have to look up what they are, but one looked like a hexagon or an animal pawprint. I thought it looked pretty neat.

nice sketch, Lee...looking forward to more... smile 8)

yea...you can also get a severe concussion, broken nose, bruised throat and cut eyelid...following a vicious blow to the face knocking you out cold...to the point where you have to be removed from the ice on a stretcher and spend the night in intensive care... 8O ...just ask Zednick!

Is Hillary defeated?

Does Hillary have any chance of making a comeback and, if so, how? 8O

yep...it`s a virtual tie...and only mid-Feb...still a looooong way to go...

btw, good point about Mich. and Flor, Rick...

and it now starts with states coming up which Clinton has strong support in...Tex., Penn., and my state, Ohio...not to mention debates coming up...

also, all Clinton`s negs. are already out there and well-known...as of now, Obama`s negs., if any, remain unknown...however, i`ve got a feeling there`s someone out there with the dirt...and they`re just waiting for the right time to, 'open the closet.' wink

this race between professional politicians is simply too close, too early to be declaring a winner...so much could still happen with so much time left.

and yes...it could come down to so-called super delegates...just have to wait and see!

well...the closet door is slowly starting to open...if the mainstream media decides to make a BIG thing out of any/all of this between now and April or now and Nov...,

here`s something extremely interesting...and extremely relevant,

Please pay particular attention to the comments at the bottom,

Please also read thru some of the posts at the following link...and it becomes obvious that her campaign is alive and well...this is typical of many election forums across the web.

and, lastly, the following is obvious,

how long, i wonder, before a knock-out blow is delivered/found...if one even exists...

and Please remember...i don`t write this stuff...just came across it in that forum and reported it here thru the use of links...so Please don`t shoot the messenger! 8O wink

Thank You! smile 8)
