Demise of the Blue Lotus

Posted By Darrell Fichtl

Just watched a PBS special on ancient Egypt. Through careful research they have discovered that the Blue Lotus, when smelled or mixed with wine, has much the same effect on the human body as VIAGRA.

Look for a very rapid extintion of the Blue Lotus throughout the entire world.

Strange!

Posted By Darrell Fichtl

We have the Sunnis, Shi'ites, Sufis, Kahrijites, Wahhabis, Ismailis, Zaidis, Fatimids, Nizari and the Alawis and in some cases they are killing each other like there is no tomorrow all over "My Muhammad is better than your Muhammad!"

I can understand heated discussions over, "My Jesus is better than your Jesus" but detonating a bomb that was strapped to your body to kill a bunch of innocent individuals does not, at least to me, seem the act of any rational individual.

Do you think Secretary of State Rice should run fo

Posted By Darrell Fichtl

This was the question of the day on Excite.com

Do you think Secretary of State Rice should run for President of the United States?

I think it's a great, terrific, wonderful idea. I hope she gets the nomination. I'll be thrilled!

Would I vote for her? You got to be kidding!

Da Vinci Code

Posted By Darrell Fichtl

ROME, Italy (Reuters) -- A top Catholic cardinal has blasted "The Da Vinci Code" as a "gross and absurd" distortion of history and said Catholic bookstores should take the bestseller off their shelves because it is full of "cheap lies."

"You can find that book everywhere and the risk is that many people who read it believe that those fairy tales are real," he said. "I think I have the responsibility to clear things up to unmask the cheap lies contained in books like that."

Is there anyone who does not see the humor in this?

There is definitely a pot and the kettle analogy going on here!

What a wind

Posted By Darrell Fichtl

I was up at Hopkins at the MMT Thursday for an interview. It was about 60 degrees down in the valley with a little wind. As I climbed up the mountain the temperature started to drop.

By the time I got up to the MMT it was 32 degrees and the wind must have been hitting 60 miles per hour. I parked next to the fence (three feet the other side of the fence and it's down about 1000 ft.). When I got out of the SUV it was rocking back and forth from the wind. I could just see the vehicle blowing over the ridge so I moved it toward the middle of the parking lot.

Everybody inside the building was wearing heavy jackets (there are only three heated rooms). It was like a refrigerator in there!

Ain't that just sweet

Posted By Darrell Fichtl

Well, they couldn't stop individuals from going across the borders to buy their drugs at a cheaper price so guess what-----

I just read in USA Today that Homeland Security is going to put in effect, over the next three years, requiring US citizens visiting either Mexico or Canada to obtain US passports.

You'll be required to show your passport to reenter the US. All in the name of stopping future terrorist from entering the US.

Give me a break. I'm not that stupid and neither are the terrorists.

As with most husB's and the Bushettes policies; follow the money!

Addendum:

Passport Fees
March 8, 2005

Routine Services (Form DS-11)
Non-Refundable

Age 16 and older: The passport fee is $55. The security surcharge is $12. The execution fee is $30. The total is $97.

Under Age 16: The passport fee is $40. The security surcharge is $12. The execution fee is $30. The total is $82.

So-- for you and your spouse you can kiss off about $200.

Ain't government just grand!

Sudan the money sponge

Posted By Darrell Fichtl

Here we go again. 1.7 billion in aid to Sudan!. That's inconceivable to me.

Here we are, ass deep in debt ourselves, and we're pouring money into a country that's the armpit of Africa. The major political power is full of CTL (Cheats, Thieves and Liars). Do any of you feel that the money will ever go to any of those that need it? And assuming that it does will it change anything at all? This place has been the PITS for decades and no amount of money that you pour into it is going the change the status one iota until people want to change it themselves!

It's money down the rat hole pure and simple! We'd be better served using 1.7 billion to build a twenty foot electrified fence between Mexico and the US of A.
