Astronomik EOS clip filter system?

Is anyone using the Astronomik EOS clip filters? I'm thinking about their CLS, UHC, or CITY filter with the EOS clip style retainer. Might be an easier way to get a filter in the optic train, especially when using camera lenses.

does the original box add value to an item?

Would a used refractor telescope be worth less money because of the lack of the box? If the telescope was worth $1000 used in excellent condition, what value would having the original box add to the scope, if any?

Personally, I always liked having the original box with items like filters, eyepieces, diagonals, but didn't really care if it came with larger items like mounts, or OTAs. Sometimes a different box than the original provided better protection for shipping anyways. Opinions appreciated!

clip in EOS filters with the MPCC and F/4 scope

I've heard a rumor that I may get vignetting and distortion using an EOS clip-in filter and the Baader MPCC on my F/4 8" newt. Anybody using this or a similar setup without vignetting or other problems?

Beginner Objects for Star Party

I assume your in the States. Here is a list of bright favorites: M13, M57, M27, M11, M26, M17, M8 and M22.

None of these objects are difficult to find with a good starchart and patience. I recommend going to www.skymaps.com and downloading July's free starmap for the Northern Hemisphere. It is a terrific aid in finding the brighter DSOs.

Congrats on the Messier list completed! BTW, there is no cure to the "larger mirror" syndrome. A more terrible disease is the premium-eyepiece disorder and the multiple-scope-sickness. Although, my wife thinks she has found a cure, no more viewing the classifieds on Astromart :-)

Mounting a C 9.25 SCT to a standard GM-8 mount

You can mount a G11 Saddle to the GM-8. Then the 9.25 dovetail sold by Losmandy will work. My GM-8 has the G11 saddle. Someone else can answer about counterweights. Clear skies!
