an excerpt from the article you cited. Conclusively and clearly saying 90% of the "traced" guns are from the US. You can play somantics with the numbers. Its obviously way to high and there is obviously a problem. Someone, not in the hip pocket of the NRA would like to improve the odds for law enforcement in both Mexico and the US. Move on and try to help things please and welcome back.

Both of these quotes were from Senator Specter himself, not the Democrat party officials. Keep in mind Senator Specter is one of the authors of the single bullet theory with JFK. Don't trust the man, the party is fine. And he who cries wolf..........

BTW preliminary reports have the Pharma manufacturers, a big healthcare union and the AMA ponying up 2 trillion(yes 2,000,000,000 the same as the bailout figure) to help ease some of the pending stuff going on in healthcare. The party of 17-18% of GDP and locked in pill pricing courtesy of Ted Kennedy and the last President may be on the radar. Perhaps yet another kept promise by the new President?

Do you love your country?

If you do, I pose a question to perhaps generate some positive thoughts on the big healthcare. Do you believe that in the competitive global economy, with the standard of living we enjoy, that we can spot(give up) 4-5% of GDP and still be competitive? That equates to roughly 700,000,000,000 that's 700 billion a year more than ANY competitive industrialized nation would spend on an equivalently sized economy. I simply cannot believe we can can outproduce nations with a lower standard of living and throw this gap on top of it and survive. So, do we do nothing, or start somewhere, perhaps tort reform and tax status. The status quo IMHO is unsustainable(I don't agree in any manner with the stuff congress is considering).
