Spring is here and it's time for some deep sky imaging! Unfortunately it can be a bit too deep to get into my observatory. Right now it's piling up at the rate of 2 inches per hour :C

Large mount - large scope

While at NEAF, we were able to mount the 20" Planewave DK on the 3600 mount. The 20" weighs around 150lb, and the mount hardly knew it was there. For those contemplating a large imaging system, the Planewave DK is an effective lower cost option to other Cass systems. They also have a 17" model at an attractive price. Check them out.

Hi all,

This Milky Way nebula near Sadr was imaged by Gilles Cohen in southern France using a 155EDF operating at F5.3, STL11K camera and H-a filter. A series of 15 minute exposures were added together for a total of approximately 3.5 hours. Seeing was 1.1 pixel FWHM. This image is a 1/4 size from the original.
