Is anything short of a 5 star rating acceptable?

That is why it is important to put a bit of effort into the supporting comments instead of the typical one liners. My last transaction was with a member with a continuous 5 star rating. I paid promptly but I still had to wait 2 months for the member to send the scope. Did this member live up to their 5 star rating, not really. My first transaction on Astromart was also with a member with high 5 star ratings. The transaction was straight forward but delivery didn't go as planned but that member did at least offer up solutions and in effect live up to their 5 star rating. 4 & 5 star rating are close without causing too much concern but I would be interested to read in the comment field why the member rated a 4 instead of a 5. Sometimes people give a poor rating to a member for things outside that members control.

For longevity in Amateur Astronomy you can't really go past Sir Patrick Moore. He has authored over 70 books, is the presenter of the longest running BBC television series, The Sky at Night. He has contributed to the Astronomy community for over 50 years. Also, I favour Sir Patrick Moore because he was a Navigator for Bomber Command during WWII and since I have served over 20 years with the Australian Airforce I am a bit biased...sorry. smile

I wish we had the likes of TNR here down under in Australia or at least someone whom knows everything about Takahashi. Apart from my APOMAX every other scope I own is Takahashi (FSQ-106ED, FS-78 and Mewlon 250S) plus the Tak NJP Mount and there has been occasions where I needed an item but I had to do all the web searching and then trying to explain what I wanted to the dealer here. Thankfully Art from TNR has been able to assist with getting the information..shame I can't reward his efforts by giving TNR my business.

Finder scope and bracket for FS78

The Takahashi FS Series Refractor manual (available on TNR website)lists a 7X50 but I have seen FS-78's being sold in the classifieds with 6X30 finderscope which is consistent with the historical information that can be found on various websites.

EM200 USDII Slewing Problem

Anyone still using the older EM200 USDII mount and powering it with 24V? I note that when slewing the mount in RA the mount will move without issue in one direction but when reversing the motor ramps up but then cuts out. This happens when the counter-weight shaft is in the 6 o'clock position. Anyone come across this problem before?

Can you even get replacement motors for these older mounts anymore?
