Hi all,

I've gathered subs on this pair of galaxies over several nights the last few weeks,good nights have been scarce lately.

I set out to capture some of the flux around this area as well as the galaxies themselves and picked up quite a bit of it in the luminance. The night I took the RGB was not the best as the sky hazed up late forcing me to throw out half of the RGB data I was hoping to have. It needs more RGB but I have processed what I have since it looks like I won't have a good night for awhile.

I acquired luminance on Feb. 3rd,4th and 19th,a total of 120x300s. I had to throw out 40 of these subs due to a focus issue so this is 80x300s Luminance and 9x480s each RGB.

I hope to shoot more RGB when I get some clear skies as I had to stretch it real hard and could not get the color to look quite right.

Taken with my TMB115 at F7 and ST10xme
1200gto guided with a remote guide head e-finder combo.

M81/82 Again!

Hello guys,

I posted this not long ago but had somewhat poor RGB data to work with. Since then I have reshot the RGB and also shot some Ha.

I was intending to add to my existing RGB but the newer subs were so much better by themselves that I did not use the first set I shot,I think they did more harm than good!

The Ha data added nicely,I think,to the image and even brought out the small emission nebula MH9/10 just above Holmberg IX which was nearly invisible without it.

I was hoping to bring the flux out more than is shown,maybe with deeper subs or darker skies it would be possible. For now I have decide to move on to another object!

I'm pretty happy with this version though it's not without some issues.

So,here's the details
Ha,10x600s
Luminance,80x300s
Red and Blue,18x420s
Green,18x360s
14.2 hours total

I summed the LRGB frames together and used this as luminance.
Ha was added to the Luminance,Red and a small amount to Blue.

Reduced to 60% and trimmed a bit around the edges.

Taken with my TMB 115 at F7 and ST10xme.

Crescent in Ha.

Hi all,

Seems like forever since I have imaged anything! I decided to go to a larger,longer scope back in March. Took a bit longer to get everything together than I expected and then the Spring weather here has not been kind for astroimaging.

Last night I finally had a chance to use this new scope as the clouds parted later in the night,of course now we have a nice bright Moon so first light for the new scope is a fairly short Ha image of the crescent nebula.

This is just 25x300s through a 6nm Ha filter with a Meade 12" ACF tube at F6.8 and my ST10xme binned 1x1. 1200 gto guided with an efinder and remote guide head. Image reduced to 60%

It needs more and longer exposures and it seems my collimation is not as good as I thought it was wink but I see some potential for some good higher resolution images with this combo once everything is dialed in.

It was good to image again!

Hello group,

After a frustrating experience with dew and how it can ruin your night when your using an SCT,I was able to capture some OIII data with my new,homemade dewshield equiped 12" Meade ACF tube. I collected 25x600x OIII to go with the 12x600s of Ha I shot earlier. Still need to get the collimation dialed in better on this scope but I am pretty happy with it so far.

I'm not sure what else to do with this image,maybe you all could give me some suggestions,more data would probably help but nice nights have been scarce for the last few monthes sad

Here's the image and details;
12x600s 6nm Ha
25x600s 6nm OIII
Meade12" ACF tube and ST10xme-Edit,I should add this was shot with the scope at F6.8
1200gto guided with a remote guide head and e-finder

Image reduced to 60% of full size

DWB111 In Ha

Hi all,

Finally got another clear night here so I shot the Propeller nebula in Ha.
Not a perfect night as it was a bit windy and the guiding on this seems to be off a little,maybe the wind or poor seeing,not sure but at this size I think it doesn't look too bad,or does it?

I was planning to shoot OIII and SII on this too but after taking a few OIII subs last night I decided not to,not much there!

Here's the image,30x600s Ha with a Meade 12" ACF OTA,ST10xme and 1200gto guided with an efinder/remote guide head combo.
Reduced to 60%

I'm debating whether I should reshoot this or not,what do you think?

Hi Tony,

The image is little small to tell you much about it. The color looks good though!

The size limit on Astromart is 500K so you can post a large version wink

Yeah,I shot some Ha on this last night too! It was a little scary as middle of the night thunderstorms have been rolling through regularly here and I was hoping I wouldn't get caught sleeping and have one come roll through shocked

No storms but seeing was poor and a few high clouds came in late ruining the last few exposures.

Stars are not as sharp on this as I would like,still have not really nailed collimation on the scope and think maybe I made it worse.

Ok,thats all my excuses,here is the image and details,

13x600s 6nm Ha filter
12" Meade ACF OTA at F6.8
St-10xme
1200gto guided with an e-finder and remote guide head.

Framed to get as much interesting stuff in my FOV as possible!

HA,OIII,OIII M16

Hi,

I shot some OIII to go with the Ha on this one. Only 6x600s before some fluffy clouds came in and just kind of hung out in my sky :C

So,the OIII was pretty noisy.
I worked on a couple versions of this and decided I liked this one best,hoping to highlight some of the OIII in the area.

NGC7000 area from Richards data

This is a Hubble palatte version and my first time processing with actual SII data,it was good practice.


I leaned this towards the Blue side as I like how the OIII looks smile

Hubble Pallette M16

Hello fellow forum members,

Clear skies last night so I collected more data on the Eagle nebula. Funny how clear skies coincide with the near full Moon isn't it?

I finally got an SII filter so last night I shot 12x600s of SII on this and added 6x600s of OIII to the data I already had making this image two hours each Ha,SII,OIII processed in the Hubble pallette. Even with the narrowband filters,with the Moon so bright and near my target I picked up some gradient,especially in the OIII subs. All in all I'm pretty happy with the result though I think it could be sharper. I decided not to rotate the image here for easier viewing.

ST-10xme/CFW10
1200gto
