"Family Values Judges"

Posted By James Brown

Rod Kaufman said:

That's THE criteria evangelicals and Christian conservatives are requiring Trump to appoint and he said "they will be pleased".
"Family values judges", yeah, never mind the constitution...How that for a trumped-up pick?

Hi Rod:

I certainly don't expect you to see this, but assuming Trump picks from the 2-3 names floating around for the last few weeks, the Supreme Court nominee announced tonight will possess 100% exemplary judicial credentials and I will be pleased. I don't imagine you or anyone else has a problem with the qualifications of the "short list" judges, other than the fact that they are conservatives and Trump is appointing one of them.

If Trump goes off the reservation, and nominates some anti-abortion "activist" lacking exemplary judicial credentials, I'll be pretty upset. This pick, and hopefully a few more on down the road are the primary reason I voted against Clinton.

I absolutely expect a higher level of spun-up BS from the press detailing what an un-american, fascist, hatred filled dark-soul Trump's nominee is. The screech level from the left and the press is going to double anything we've seen so far, and that is saying a lot. I'm kind of enjoying watching the tantrums in real time.

Why you voted for Trump

Posted By James Brown

David Cotterell said:

"You voted for Trump because Clinton was going to be in Wall Street's pocket. Trump wants to repeal Dodd-Frank and eliminate the Fiduciary Rule, letting Wall Street return to its pre-2008 ways.

You voted for Trump because of Clinton's emails. The Trump administration is running its own private email server.

You voted for Trump because you thought the Clinton Foundation was "pay for play." Trump has refused to wall off his businesses from his administration, and personally profits from payments from foreign governments.

You voted for Trump because of Clinton's role in Benghazi. Trump ordered the Yemen raid without adequate intel, and tweeted about "FAKE NEWS" while Americans died as a result of his carelessness.

You voted for Trump because Clinton didn't care about "the little guy." Trump's cabinet is full of billionaires, and he took away your health insurance so he could give them a multi-million-dollar tax break.

You voted for Trump because he was going to build a wall and Mexico was going to pay for it. American consumers will pay for the wall via import tariffs.

You voted for Trump because Clinton was going to get us into a war. Trump has provoked our enemies, alienated our allies, and given ISIS a decade's worth of recruiting material.

You voted for Trump because Clinton didn't have the stamina to do the job. Trump hung up on the Australian Prime Minister during a 5pm phone call because "it was at the end of a long day and he was tired and fatigue was setting in."

You voted for Trump because foreign leaders wouldn't "respect" Clinton. Foreign leaders, both friendly and hostile, are openly mocking Trump.

You voted for Trump because Clinton lies and "he tells it like it is." Trump and his administration lie with a regularity and brazenness that can only be described as shocking.

Let's be honest about what really happened.

The reality is that you voted for Trump because you got conned. Trump is a grifter and the American people were the mark. Now that you know the score, quit insisting the con-man is on your side."

Dave:

This kind of thing would be more interesting if you actually wrote it, rather than just cut-pasting the meme du jour from your Facebook page.

On the merits, it surprises me every day how the left can lose an "unlosable" election to Donald F'ing Trump. And have no idea why they lost. It is stunning, simply stunning.

Hi Rod:

Rather than posting daily dissatisfaction with the Trump administration, you ought to be focusing blame on your own Democratic Party apparatus, the press, and Hollywood. The Democratic Party and their institutional apparatus lost an election that no one could possibly lose. No one, but the most extremely corrupt and incompetent I should say. How about second guessing them for a while and giving Trump a chance to govern before you rip into him?

Consider that your team owned all levels of the federal government a mere 8 years ago. Then your party jettisoned bipartisan governance in favor of strong-arming massive projects through the system. Projects considered "virtuous" by the smug Democrat elites but projects not all that appealing to the common man. "I have a pen and I have a phone." Remember that gem?

And now your party and the protester class have the balls to fret, posture and protest because Trump is too autocratic. Can't your people see the hypocrisy?

One would have though the electoral smack-downs of 2010, 2012 and 2014 would have been a clue that smug elitism and government by "a pen and a phone" was not all that popular in the swing states, but no; your party anointed the worst candidate in the history of humanity to lead the Democrats further toward oblivion.

Where is your outrage over that inconvenient truth?

So, if you must, go ahead and post some daily article slamming Trump or his government. Maybe also post a daily endorsement of Schumer's feeble and entirely ineffective obstruction of every one of Trump's nominees. Perhaps more Democrats should take to the streets over each and every one of Trump's policies. In other words, double down when the Democratic party further marginalizes itself.

Bottom line - your party created Trump. I sincerely hope the Democrats end their "opposition by tantrum" phase pretty soon. I'm not optimistic. A strong and somewhat legitimate opposition party is a necessary check on governmental excess. Who is going to fill that roll if the D's don't pull their heads out of their asses pretty soon?

Today's Alternative Fact

"Disheartening and Demoralizing"
The words of Trump's pick for the supreme court aimed at the tweet from Trump himself.
But, today, we hear:
White House says Gorsuch wasn't talking about Trump tweet (even though White House officials said he was).
Which WH official to believe?...

I agree with Gorsuch, Trump's tweets are disheartening and demoralizing.

Is everyone doing their taxes? No new posts here for 3 days. I look forward to perusing this forum over my lunch hour at work and there's nothing new in the world of politics?

Clear skies anyway...

Hi Weiman:

Well, I guess that there is just nothing new to post about. The government is running like a well-oiled machine. No new Twitter outrage from the commander in chief... No big health care initiative to consider, no new Wikileaks dump. I guess politics has just gotten so mundane that there isn't much left to say... wink wink wink

You are a retired teacher. How the heck do you justify plagiarism? I think you have earned an "F" for intellectual laziness.

Am I overreacting? Maybe, but I think that passing off other's work as your own is bad, seriously bad, even on Astromart! If the rest of you think the times have passed me by, just let me know. I'm not saying I'll change, but still, it would be good to know if I've officially become an old curmudgeon.

This is bullshit of course. Are you trolling because it is slow in here after an election, or are you that poorly informed regarding US Constitutional law?

I suspect that Rod got tired of Richard's style of engagement.

Hi Russ:

That's very nice! I love the M1 on your Facebook page too. I should be back in the imaging game some time this summer. Our place in the mountains is almost done.

What kind of testers do you need? You mentioned processing for sure, but do you need testers to capture the FITs too?
