The majority of the R politicians, like I suppose the 20 some R representatives from your home state, are typical Republicans who tolerate or even suck up to Trump because that is the way the political winds are blowing.
I think we discussed Nikki Haley in this context. She endorsed Trump because her choices are to tolerate him for now or get out of politics. The Democrats are doing the exact same thing. The whole Democratic party is being pulled to the left on social issues because they can not fight the tide and remain relevant. Does this mean everyone in Washington except for Rand Paul and Bernie Sanders lack independence and integrity? I suppose this is one way of looking at it. Another is to figure they are all just politicians being politicians as they always have since the beginning of history.
If Harris doesn't choke, Trumpism will be gone in a few election cycles.
I think more people would respect Haley if she stuck to her guns on Trump. Hogan is and I don't see it hurting him although we'll see how he fares at the upcoming election.
Here's another who's fed up with the cons:
"Reagan-appointed judge uses footnote to ding the Supreme Court’s Trump immunity ruling"
"A federal trial court judge in North Carolina used a highly unusual footnote in a ruling Friday to take a swipe at the Supreme Court, accusing the conservative majority of attempting to “redesign” the presidency when it granted sweeping immunity to Donald Trump."
"Young described the outcome of that case as a “six-member majority, eschewing historical analysis,” that “sought fundamentally to redesign the relationship between the sovereign people and the first citizen of the Republic.”
