Rupert Murdoch is an Australian borne something or other; the point being he's an Australian by birthright.
Thankfully, and presumably, he has nothing to do with ABC Australia. My point is I thought the Australian ABC news viewpoint of the debate was quite conservative in nature particularly in light of the American reporting...

Also, as detailed by Nate Silver, the electoral college favors Trump.  Harris could easily win the "popular vote" by 1 or 2% and still lose the election.

The good analysis here might be behind a paywall, I pay a nominal fee to see Silver's full analysis.  I think some of it is public though.  Not sure how much:   https://www.natesilver.net/p/nate-silver-2024-president-election-polls-model

Silver has the race for winning the Electoral College and election at about 60/40 in favor of Trump, which is effectively a tie. Jim
Jim,

Do you agree with Silver's assessment of Trump's mistakes thus far?

The moderators fact-checked him in real-time, and the next day, Trump was ranting on social media regarding how unfairly the moderators treated him. He even demanded that ABC be "shut down," in his words. Still, he once again got away with spewing multiple lies. Of course, the critical question is whether the debate changed the polls. All I can tell you is that the debate I saw was not good for Trump.
Well, Trump and his stated sources during the debate, those being Fox "news" opinion commentators Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham and that other despicable freak by the name of Jesse Watters, all blame the moderators for having the audacity to fact check some of Trump's inane debate responses.

Well why, they cry, they didn't do it to Harris so why should they have fact checked Trump? Er, ah, it's obviously because Harris didn't make the same sort of crazy and unfounded nonsensical claims that Trump did during his time in the debate which turned out to be about 5 minutes more of airtime because he was permitted to respond to the moderators and their fact checking.

But true to Trump and MAGA, ya always gotta play the victim card.

Nevertheless, if what I saw in that CNN focus group discussion after debate of supposedly undecided swing state voters in Penn is any real indication of how it will go, Trump skates back to the WH without any guardrails and even more teflon coated thanks to the cons on SCOTUS...

Latest poll in the critical swing state of Penn: Trump 50%/Harris 50%.

The pope's "brilliant" assessment of the presidential race:  "voters must choose between ‘lesser of two evils".

Are you kidding me?! What, he can't tell the difference between a psychopath and convicted felon who cares only about himself and a democratic politician who's position on abortion isn't one that he personally doesn"t like?

"Pope Francis on Friday described the choice US voters must make in the presidential election as one between the “lesser of two evils,” deeming former President Donald Trump’s anti-migrant policies and Vice President Kamala Harris’ support of abortion rights as both being “against life.”

"Francis has criticized couples who choose to have pets rather than children, aligning with views expressed by Trump’s running mate, Sen. JD Vance, a converted Catholic who has derided women without kids as “childless cat ladies” and described those in the country’s “leadership class” who don’t have children as “more sociopathic.”

"US Catholics also have a range of views. According to Pew Research, 52% of Catholic registered voters describe themselves as being or leaning Republican, while 44% say they are or lean Democrat."

"Catholic voters were split in 2020, with 50% voting for Biden and 49% supporting Trump, according to Pew. But a majority of Catholics – 61% – believe abortion should be legal in all or most cases."

I don't know why Jim Brown stated he's feeling "less pessimistic" about Harris' chances now...

Hmm, that's depressing although I do find the swing states currently favoring Harris on TheRealClearPolitics website.

Hmm, according to reports on conservative media, the today's supposed assassin posted both anti-Trump and anti Biden commentary and, instead, supported Vivek and Haley.

Also, according to reports, Trump's whereabouts weren't scheduled so it's still a mystery as to how the supposed assassin would even know he was there.

I also checked Florida's liberal gun laws to see if they allow for an open "constitutional carry" and, nope they don't but if you conceal your weapon under your coat, it's all hunky dory...

BTW, it seems Russ is quite correct in that Reagan would have supported Harris:

"More than a dozen Reagan alumni endorse Vice President Harris"

"Seventeen Republicans who worked under former President Reagan endorsed Vice President Harris, her campaign announced in a press release Sunday.

"In the endorsement, which cited Reagan’s “Time for Choosing” speech, the Republicans said they believe Reagan would have supported Harris’s presidential bid if he were alive today."

“While he is not here to experience the current moment, we who worked for him in the White House, in the Administration, in campaigns and on his personal staff, know he would join us in supporting the Harris-Walz ticket,” they wrote in a statement."

Jay Cooper, deputy assistant to the president under Reagan and deputy White House press secretary to President George H. W. Bush; Pete Souza, official White House photographer; and others

Wow, those are some real Bigwigs there aren't they?  tongue

I mean to say, you know you are reaching when you have to list among these HUGE, well known politiicians such as Pete Souza, the Official White House Photographer!

Yes, yes, I know that I base much of my political leanings based upon whom the OFFICIAL White House Photographer is voting for.

Aside from the Regular RINOs who are now totally irrelevant players, those like Liz Cheney and Mitt Romney, I guess I'm supposed to be shocked by the fact that Dick Cheney is dumb enough to vote for the Marxist candidate Kamala Harris.

Umm.... here's a clue for you.  Dick Cheney is butthurt because the voters of Wyoming wised up and voted for the candidate whom Trump endorsed, which resulted in his pissed off little girl Liz Cheney getting utterly stomped into the dirt, and with Trump's endorsement, Liz Cheney got SO Stomped that it was a total embarrassment for the family name, not to mention the fact that it now means that the Cheney name is now gone from politics forever.

I guess little Dick Cheney is just an angry son of a bitch!   smile

BTW, I was just talking with a friend of mine the other day and I have to admit I did mention that I was wondering who Carol Adelman, the 40 years past "assistant administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development" was voting for this November.

Obviously most people have no friggin' clue who she is, but that endorsement of her's for Kamala Harris is now giving me personally some serious Pause, and rethinking of whom I may just vote for!

Now having said that, I hope you don't take it personally, when I now laugh hysterically right in your communist face?  HA, HA, HA  wink
You forgot to add that while real Americans are popping popcorn, Haitians are popping paws!

Not only that but have you followed up on doing this?:

"An Ohio county sheriff seemingly instructed residents to write down the addresses of homeowners who have signs supporting Vice President Kamala Harris in their front yards, according to his social media post."

I suppose you'll get right on it...

There wasn't a response here by any leftist or any RINO when Vladimir Putin threw his support behind Kamala Harris for President

I wonder why neither the leftists here, nor either of the RINOs Jim Brown or Russ Carroll were rushing to congratulate Putin for his hope that Kamala Harris wins the upcoming election?

After all, each RINO here on the forum along with all the leftists here have voiced their support for Kamala Harris and have indicated that they will be voting for the most plastic and the biggest liar of a Presidential candidate that ever has lived, Kamala Harris.

So why not voice your support that Putin has come out for Kamala?  smile
"Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov clarified Vladmir Putin’s stance on supporting Vice President Harris in the upcoming presidential election, saying the Russian president was joking. "

Everybody knew that but Rich, the obtuse one...
