NexImage.......Registax...????????

Posted By Paul Maxson

Cor put up a message that he and Celestron had worked out an agreement where they could include his software as part of the NexImage package. He said he gets no financial gain from this. He made it clear that he is NOT going commercial and that the next version of Registax will also continue to be free.

People make me wonder!

Posted By Paul Maxson

Charles,

Some people think if you are LOOKING for something, you are willing to pay premium for it. Then some people also think if you are selling the item, you are willing to take a loss on it.

Good luck on finding your items.

Is this advisable?

Al,

I used something like that for a while. It worked pretty well, but moisture would roll down the posterboard onto the corrector plate at times. You could line the inside with felt to help eliminate that, but I think it's a good "poor mans" dew cap.

I was doing some crater size measurements on this image and if my logic is correct, I measured a crater about 1/2 mile across!! That's a really great image!!

Migrating bats in front of the moon.

Posted By Paul Maxson

Van,

I've never had bats cross my screen, but while imaging the sun occassionally I'll see specks go through the field. I am guessing high flying birds or the like. Of course, there is the occasional jet that does that too...messes up the image royally!! grin

My First Saturn

Posted By Paul Maxson

Tyler,

My goodness, you did very well for your first time. Focus looks good to me. Just keep at it and you'll start to see what good focus is. I usually try to focus on the Cassini division for focus. Make sure you get a lot of frames with Saturn. I typically shoot for 3-4 minutes at 10fps. That's around 2000 frames. Make sure the scope is as colluminated as possible, and of course seeing is a big thing. Saturn will get better as time goes on this year.

Good luck and I look forward to more images.

Lunar Image

Posted By Paul Maxson

Tyler,

Nice lunar image, Wes id'ed the craters. As far as a lunar atlas, I use one called "Virtual Lunar Atlas". It can be found here:

Best of all, it is free.

Clear skies!
