Vince,

That's a very nice image...at least you had clear weather. I got my C925 back Thursday and it's been cloudy and rainy since...nice of Celestron to send the scope back WITH clouds!! LOL!!

Doug,

Very nice!! It looks like 696 is getting smaller and less complex quite quickly. I wanted to image yesterday but we had the pitter-patter of rain all day.

Wes,

To echo everyone else...spectacular!!

After such a great first night, I hope you can get more great skies!! That setup diserves it!

Thanks!

Having trouble posting images

Bob,

I think Astromart has a limit on the size of the image, 500k if I remember. If your image is larger than that, that could be the problem.

I'd love to see what you did.

True!! And the people 50 years from now will probably laugh just as hard at our predictions as we are laughing at the 50 year old predictions...**hehehe**

Wes,

Beautiful!! Scary (but fun) to think what Jupiter will look like when it gets well placed!!

Now, if Ma Nature would just cooperate!!

First attempt at Saturn

Posted By Paul Maxson

Gerry,

A very nice image for the first try. What instrument did you use?

I took the image and applied wavelets in Registax (1-8 and 2-8). The attached is the result I got.

A hint...with planets you need LOTS of frames...for Saturn around 1000-2000 is what you should shoot for. Jupiter you can manage less, 500-1000 mostly because the planet shows so much detail and longer than 60-100 second exposures start to smear detail. Add a barlow and you will be pleasantly surprised how much detail you will get.

Looking forward to seeing more.

Opinion on GPS11

Posted By Paul Maxson

I have a number of friends who own GPS11's and absolutely love them!! Two of the great amateur planetary imagers (Jesús Sánchez and Damian Peach) both use C11's for most of their images and they are as good as they get.

Good luck!!
