And I can say the same about every leftist who wants to give amnesty to 20 Million illegal aliens.

I'm sure that same group would give them an award.

Same deal with the pentagon and much of Trump's other overheated campaign promises.  Implementation is not going to be easy, or even possible, even if Trump has the will (which I doubt).  It is not like the Generals are going to roll over like puppies.

So in my view, we as a nation (and our allies Dave) are not going to be OK just because it is "campaign rhetoric."  No, we are going to be OK because any actual implementation is going to look a lot different than the worst case scenarios being floated on the left post-election.

We owe it to ourselves to create a score-card to track some of this stuff.  I'll think about that, but if anyone has a good starting list of campaign rhetoric that worries you, feel free to post it.
" I personally believe that it will be a huge, worthy, but probably unattainable goal to deport the active criminals,..."

That has been going on forever by ICE who routinely does it day in and day out. You just don't hear about it. Once Trump starts up though, expect the rightwing echo chamber to amplify it it as "Trump is keeping us safe!" And people will believe it...

I don't bother to scan these postings lately so if you stated that, then that's great for you.

I haven't bothered to check the other thread where you talked about MAGA Republicans vs. Non MAGA Republicans.

Did you ever define a MAGA Republican?  If so, I'll go back and find it, and if you didn't, do you care to define a  MAGA Republican here?
And yet you seem to respond frequently to these postings including the one by Jim B on his well-executed and thoughtful reply on the definition of a MAGA type persona.

If one doesn't vote for a woman and she's black, then they must be both sexist and racist right James?   smile
Another lie in a litany of lies about Harris and I've lost track of the number of slurred and garbled words coming from Trump, not related to alcohol but to reported cognitive decline?

No "historical" mandate like Trump claimed and not even close to it: he won a plurality of the popular vote but not anywhere near a landslide majority:

"Yes, Donald Trump won the election. He will be the next president. There’s no question about that. But it’s also one of the narrowest popular vote wins in U.S. history. He got less than half the votes cast, winning a plurality but not a majority of the popular vote."

Given the short pathway, timewise, that Harris had, I don't think a massive and expensive media blitz would be out of the question...
PS: Buy any of Donald's outrageously expensive watches that were nowhere near their actual value?

That said, if the President is not going to pardon his own flesh and blood, who is he going to pardon?   I expect James Biden to be blanket-pardoned before January 20, and I will not fault the President for exercising his Constitutional prerogative.

FWIW, Trump did grant "political" pardons, and expect many more soon.  But Trump did grant clemency to several people, many who are black, who were serving long sentences under the Clinton-era federal sentencing guidelines for minor marijuana or other drug related crimes.  I thought at the time this was one of Trump's better moves.
Hi Jim,
I'd encourage you to take a few minutes and view the link from the lawyer who is a CNN consultant and whom is experienced in prosecuting these sorts of cases:

There is a reason the president granted a blanket pardon for all crimes that had been committed or could have been committed over an extended period of time.    Such a wide sweeping “preemptive” pardon is rare, and I have read, but not verified, that a blanket pardon like this was last used for Nixon.   The reason is obviously that there are indeed a slew of uncharged and embarrassing crimes that should have been leveled against Hunter.

Expect James Biden to get one of these blanket pardons before January 20.
Oh, so now you're going after Hunter on allegations rather than actual charges in much the same manner as Comer's BS house committee investigation did even when their "star witness" blew up in their faces and admitted he lied about the whole thing. Of course, Comer's committee forwarded a criminal referral to the justice department anyway where's it's evidently languished because no attorney overthere would want to pursue a bogus complaint like it anyway. And, of course, it's highly likely Kash Patel would be more than happy to resurrect it again so I hope Hunter actually does receive a blanket pardon.

That said, I don't see you expounding a similar level of righteous indignation regarding Trump's son in law, Jared, whose firm profited by a billion or more from his and Trump's dealings with the Saudis and one in which makes the Hunter Biden fiasco look like a pauper...

Tell me how his company took a reported $2 Billion equity investment and profited "a Billion or more" as you falsely claim.
"House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) said Thursday that Jared Kushner, former President Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser while in office, “crossed the line of ethics” by accepting a $2 billion investment from the Saudi government in his private investment firm six months after he left the White House."
"In an interview on CNN’s “The Lead with Jake Tapper,” Comer acknowledged an argument made by 2024 GOP presidential candidate Chris Christie, who noted Kushner’s extensive work in the Middle East on behalf of the Trump White House and claimed in an earlier interview “the Trump family has been involved in grifting for quite some time.”

“Your close relationship with Crown Prince bin Salman, your pro-Saudi positions during the Trump Administration, and PIF’s decision to fund the lion’s share of your new business venture — only six months after the end of your White House tenure — create the appearance of a quid pro quo for your foreign policy work during the Trump Administration,” former Oversight Chairman Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.) wrote in a letter to Kushner at the time."
