RFK Jr.Removes All Current Members of CDC Vaccine Advisory Committee

“The firing of the ACIP represents one of the darkest days in modern public health,” Dr. Mike Osterholm, the Vaccine Integrity Project founder said. “Mr. Kennedy has no interest in science or saving lives. We have entered into a dangerous time for the health of the country.”

New tactic for the LA situation

Posted By Rod Kaufman

Trump, doing his authoritarian thing, sends in the marines without adequate prep, no living quarters or places to sleep except on the floor and each other, as shown in this picture provided by Newsom:

Estimated cost for this "show" deployment: 134 million. You can add that to the 45 million for Trump's upcoming birthday/military parade....

Mayor Wu Signs Executive Order to FOIA Immigration Arrests

Mayor Wu urges Trump border czar to ‘take a timeout’

BOSTON (WHDH) - Boston Mayor Michelle Wu outlined some of the steps her office is taking to push back on Trump administration policies on Tuesday, especially on immigration enforcement.

President Donald Trump and Border Czar Tom Homan continue to complain about what they call "Boston’s Sanctuary City policies," they say they interfere with immigration enforcement.

"I’m coming to Boston, I’m bringing hell with me," said Homan.

Wu hit back in a hearing in D.C.

"Shame on him for lying about my city," said Wu. Wu continued to hit back on Tuesday.

"My advice to Tom Homan and ICE is to take a timeout. Reassess what you are doing and how you are doing it," said Wu. "A little friendly advice from the safest major city in the country."
ICE has it's priorities...just like DHS:

"The Egyptian man accused of firebombing marchers on the Pearl Street Mall earlier this month tried to first purchase a handgun in November — but was denied because he didn’t have legal status to be in the United States."

"Within minutes of that attempted gun purchase at a store in Colorado Springs, an automatic email notification was sent from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security advising them that a person without legal immigration status attempted to buy a firearm in Colorado."

"But there is no indication that anyone from Immigration and Customs Enforcement took action on that notification, either then or anytime this year, until after Mohamed Sabry Soliman, 45, threw Molotov cocktails injuring 15 people in Boulder on June 1."

"The Department of Homeland Security did not respond to questions about why they didn’t probe Soliman’s attempted purchase or how, more broadly, they approach immigration enforcement investigations through the National Instant Criminal Background Check System, which tracks and notifies authorities when people without legal status attempt to buy guns."

What was that Trump was saying about prioritizing criminal deportations?....

Mayor Wu urges Trump border czar to ‘take a timeout’

Got on the southbound 5 freeway in my neck of the woods this morning and on my way to a local Costco in Canyon Country, I see a caravan of several national guard vehicles headed south for Los Angeles. I could see one of the soldier-drivers with his tactical helmet on driving a humvee or whatever it is and the whole thing reminded me of a scene from the movie, "Animal House" wherein a marching band is being led down a blind alley as they continue to pile up against one another at the end of a wall.

There's only a few blocks where the ICE demonstrations are taking place in downtown Los Angeles next to the federal buildings and these guys are being piled-up, elbow to elbow, next to one another. I hope they got enough porta potties...

The way people come to know and trust different "truths" is at the heart of our political divide and polarization. Much of it has to do with the information ecosystem and the sources we choose to trust. For example, I never thought LA was "in flames" or "under attack" from "insurrectionists and paid agitators." What I saw was a clumsy and bungling attempt by ICE and Tom Homan to enforce outdated and impractical immigration laws in a draconian and punitive way. The LA immigrant community is a vital part of the fabric of their community, and going in there with military style, dead-of-night raids to arrest people's family members and community leaders was never going to end well. In my opinion, Trump and Tom Homan contributed to the problem and continued to exacerbate it.

On the other hand, the right-wing MAGA-types think LA is being "invaded" and needs saving from itself via the use of the military. Both sides believe they are being reasonable, but they are too entrenched to consider the other side's viewpoint. And so it goes.
I'll add that it's important to note the "contributions" of right wing media, notably Faux with it greater viewership, in constantly replaying the scene of some cars burning in the street by projecting it on the screen in a loop to make it appear Los Angeles is burning.

Of course, Faux conveniently omits the fact that the protests are confined to one square mile of Los Angeles and nothing beyond it.

"At a press conference after the Fed released its latest policy statement, Powell said, “Increases in tariffs this year are likely to push up prices and weigh on economic activity.” He added, however, that the extent of the impact depends on the size and duration of the tariffs. The “pause” Trump put in place on many of the tariffs is set to end on July 9, pending any deals the administration strikes with its trading partners."

It's Always "In ABOUT TWO WEEKS"

BTW:

" During Donald Trump’s trip to the Middle East, tensions flared between India and Pakistan, though the president boasted that he helped resolve the escalating tensions with a strategy he considered brilliant."

“I said, ‘Come on, we’re going to do a lot of trade with you guys. Let’s stop it. Let’s stop it. If you stop it, we’ll do a trade. If you don’t stop it, we’re not going to do any trade,’” the Republican claimed. “And all of a sudden, they said, ‘I think we’re going to stop.’”

"Though Trump seemed quite pleased with himself, India wasted little time in pushing back. As NBC News reported, the Indian government said the American president’s version of events simply wasn’t true, and the conversation that Trump publicly described never actually occurred."

"At a White House event on Wednesday, his claim was even more direct: “I stopped the war between Pakistan and India.”

"For the third time in five weeks, India not only offered a different story, it also encouraged Trump to stop saying stuff like this."

This is a repetitive tactic of Trump and one that has proven to be just another series of falsehoods:

Sheesh...

You would prefer that we start the bombing now?  Arguably Trump giving Iran a couple of weeks to commence some real negotiations is a good move.  We will see how it turns out.

I'd prefer it to be immediate for two reasons:
1 Iran is consistently targeting and bombing civilian targets in Israel, including ballistic missiles and cluster bombs.
2. The main Iranian nuke site is buried under a mountain and the US has the capability to take it out and now is the time
to do it and it should be obvious by this time that negotiations with Iran abiding by its nuclear agreements go nowhere,
especially now.
