According to product specs, the mirror is spherical, it has a Pyrex Primary, 5 baffles for high contrast, a Schott Glass Meniscus Lens, and an Included focuser extension which allows for visual use.

They list the highest useful power as only 200x.

Sad isn't it?

Hey, I'm a Republican but can see the writing on the wall. Obama has a hour long press conference in the middle east this morning broadcast all over the world...looking very presidential btw. And on the opposite side of the spectrum we get this...

...one reporter (I think he was from the Manchester High School Gazette, not sure) showed up for McCain's arrival in Manchester, NH yesterday. :S At least McCain waved to him. I think that's the highest I've ever seen him raise his arm, you know with the water-boarding and all...

Mike,

Don`t worry too much...the fact that 49% of the Amer. people polled by Rasmussen...think that the media`s in the tank for Obama and trying to get him elected...could work against Obama!...btw, only 14% think the same about McCain...24% think coverage is fair.

Obama has also made 3 gaffes during his trip so far...2 minor and 1 quite possibly major...as follows:

1. Minor - Obama stated that he looked forward to working with all these people over the next 8-10 years...apparently forgetting about the 2-term limit for a US Pres...another Obama Sr. moment???

2. Minor - Obama stated that he wanted to make something perfectly clear!...that Isreal is the best friend of Isreal!...another Obama Sr. moment?...2 in 2 days???

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2008/07/obama-wants-to.html

Please pay particular attention to the comments just below this short article.

3. Major? - Obama said that if he had to do it over again, he would still vote against the surge!...despite the fact that it`s working and most of America thinks it`s working...and despite Obama`s own admission that it has significantly reduced violence, etc...saving 1000`s of lives as a result...I fully expect this Obama statement to appear in a future McCain ad!

The Truth About BHO`s Speech in Berlin!

Posted By Jim E. Gleason

Jim Babcock said:

You are exactly correct. The affirmative action figure candidate has to buy his propaganda. Selling German's to go to a concert with free beer is an easy way to buy a crowd. The media continues to swoon on the left's lightweight candidate in their full court press to fool the American voter to pull the lever for their boy. Continue to bring these stories. The Owright lemmings want the bounce, but when it comes to light how their lightweight got the crowds they want it covered up. How sadly typical. :S

But at least the black guy is clean. wink

(Watch the loony left go nuts because Wright's puppet's color is mentioned AGAIN. 8) )

Hello Jim,

Oh, I`ll keep the articles coming alright...there`s many more where this one came from...each night, I have a choice of articles to choose from which show what a slimy, inexperienced candidate BO is...all will be posted between now and election day...everything from how BO cheated to get Alice Palmer`s name off the ballot...so he could win his Ill. Sen. seat...to all his corruptness during the primaries...especially in caucus states...to the sliminess he`s displayed so far as the Presumptive Dem. nom., etc., etc., etc! 8)

Astromart Poll

The current poll on the Astromart home page has some interesting results and comments. While certainly not the most scientific, and the sample size is a bit limited (250ish), it's still interesting. The comments are as well, especially since they don't come from the usual suspects in Politics forum.

Mike

Yes...I agree...I read all the comments and a few of the posters would fit in quite nicely here...my way of saying that it got a bit heated toward the end!...

Re: Obama caught AGAIN

This directly relates to Obama's pretense at being President when he went on tour overseas. It turned out to be a fiasco. The public saw right through his ploy. If it had gone better, then you would be hailing him as a genius and a world leader. I can understand why you would want to change the subject. The McCain ad was simply reflecting the reality of the situation and helped frame for the public the game that Obama has been playing. Obama reacted to the McCain ad as if it was out of bounds and untrue. 3 years ago the press was docile compared to how they have swooned over him in this election cycle. The article shows the insincerity of Obama. The guy's game on tour simply failed, and both you and he are just trying to save his failed attempt to show that he has any gravitas.

Obama has been chicken about debating McCain. McCain has asked for weekly town hall format debates and Obama has simply wimped out. How each candidate does when Obama finally is man enough to actually debate his opponent will all come down to the "moderators". If Obama gets softball questions like happened with the debates in the primary, then he may do OK. On the other hand he will not have his teleprompter to save him if he gets a real question. You can expect more stuttering than a rap star. He will have to hit home runs, or IMO he will lose the election. The inexperienced lightweight has lost his luster, and I expect the press to be more even handed than they were in his debates with Hillary. From what I understand, Obama has agreed only to the absolute minimum 2 debates because he is AFRAID. Now that makes a Presidential candidate we should trust to defend the country and that we can believe in. 8O :S

Excellent post...BO also won`t be able to turn to McCain and say, "Hillary`s Right.", and, "I agree with Hillary.", like he did in the Primary debates...as Hillary somehow wound up getting most of the tough questions!... :S ...until the last one on ABC...

Re: Was Hillary doomed to lose the primary?

2 Good answers...now, my answer will be only 4/5 as long as it would`ve been! wink 8)

The Hill campaign suddenly found itself in the middle of 1st`s...and unforseen chaos...1st AA who suddenly looked like a viable candidate out of seemingly no where...the unexpected corruption reported early on of that 1st AA candidate...racist charges toward Bill Clinton, called the 1st black Pres. by the AA community after all he did for them...only to be stabbed in the back by the same AA community...in favor of someone who had done almost nothing for them as a people...except being born with some AA in him...as the Clintons found out, it was enough for almost the entire AA community to vote for this AA Affirmative Action candidate!

Finding itself in a situation such as that, of course the advisors disagreed on how to proceed...whether there were several disagreements about what to do...or silence...the fact is that they didn`t know what to do...because no campaign has ever found itself in such a situation!...quite frankly, a large part at the center of the controversy was the fear that BO would use the race card again no matter what they tried or how they criticized him!...and the media would side with him no matter what!...

So Hillary did indeed make an executive decision...the choice to do nothing at the time was the smartest thing she could`ve done...just sit back and see what transpires next!

No one had to wait long for the answer and Proof Hill made the right decision...Making Hillary look like a Prophet, Obama immediately accused Geraldine Ferraro of making racist comments...even tho her comments were innocent and true!...the idea that she`s a racist is almost as ridiculous as Bill Clinton being a racist...unfortunately, the AA bots didn`t see it that way and Ferraro got death threats...and the kool-aid drinking bots then tried to get to Hillary thru Ferraro...Ferraro took one for the team and stepped down!

Hillary never planned to do it...not even after the race card was used on Bill...but Ferraro was the last straw...she made the executive-like, right decision and ordered that the Rev. Wright clips be circulated all over the internet...Fox picked up on it like she knew they would and the rest is history...Wright made Ferraro and Bill look like a picnic in the park by comparison...and such clips exposed judgment flaws that the entire Clinton campaign thought would sink Obama and his corrupt campaign...like it would any white candidate who had David Duke as spiritual advisor, etc., etc!...

At 1st, it looked like it worked...Hillary passed BO in the polls...but, like the cultist sheep that many are, O-bots found themselves lost without their leader...so they went back to him...and he slowly got his lead in the polls back...

Then there were BO`s, 'Bitter-Gate', comments at a San Fran fund-raiser...this too would sink any white candidate...I`ve seen less do the trick...not this time, tho...no one thought the media would give BO 87 tries to explain what he meant...before finally getting it right...according to the Press that is...

To see the full effects of Hill`s executive decision-making, one must step back and look at the entire picture...1st, she never listened to Penn which indeed was the right, intelligent thing to do...for proof, see chain e-mails probably started by Penn...and how they try to paint BO as unAmerican, etc...those chain e-mails are considered BS...like they would be...had they come from Hill`s mouth!...

Also consider that, while Hill campaigned against NAFTA, this Moron, Penn, was dealing with the Columbians behind her back...she then made another right, intelligent executive decision...despite strong bonds to Penn going back to her 1st Sen. win...she correctly fired him!

But most importantly, from just before the time Hill ordered the release of the Wright clips...including the time after getting rid of Penn...she won 10 of the last 15 primaries...and 3 of the last 5...by 35 % pts. or more!...in fact, she had beaten BO in every category and was obviously the stronger candidate against McCain by the end...polls have shown this ever since!...she`s stronger with the Latino vote, the woman`s vote, the working class vote, swing/battleground state votes, etc!

This all makes one wonder if Hill would`ve won if...the SD`s voted without being paid off by BO...if woman played the intimidation card and threatened to riot just as vehemently as the AA`s did...keeping in mind that there were far more woman for Hill than AA`s for BO!...

Perhaps the question should be if Hill was Robbed of the Dem. nom!?

Obama and McCain Revealed

Posted By Jim E. Gleason

The most refreshing, revealing, and hopeful thing of the night?

The Fact that Pro-Obama CNN even thought McCain won the night and was, "Great!" compared to Obama`s, "very good"...like an A+ vs. a B+!

Also, according to CNN, McCain was quick to answer, got right to the point, didn`t beat around the bush, gave straight, direct answers, seemed on the ball and quick-witted...especially with his joking around...and clearly owned the question on abortion...where he answered that life begins at conception, etc...while BO lied about the no. of abortions, etc!

Perhaps best of all, Pro-Obama CNN saw it completely different from you two...I know a few here who were embarassed by BO`s answers!...One even thought it cost BO the election...and had to be reassured by his fellow Bots!

My view of it is much closer to how CNN reported it...and I agree with Rod on only one thing! wink 8)

The tide is starting to turn!!

It looks like Obama is finally ready to announce his VP. Many are saying it will occur on or before Thursday, and that Biden is the most probable pick. While this would be a defensive move that acknowledges Obama's weakness, I really do not like Biden, so I hope he can find someone less obnoxious.

If in fact it is Biden I'll give credit to Obama [insert vomiting sounds here]. He certainly isn't picking him because he'll bring him a state...I mean come on, Delaware? No offense Delaware. Saying that, I would have to assume he would select Biden in an effort to collect strong advisors around him? I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. I can't stand Biden myself but there's no arguing he doesn't have some credentials when it comes to foreign policy, perhaps more than anyone in the Democratic party at this point. At least he wouldn't be picking his most trusted advisor...his grandmother (re: Saddleback Forum debate answer). smile

Mike

Only one problem...that keeps resurfacing for BO and the DNC...imho, Biden is more qualified to be President...and makes BO look like the weak choice that he is!...
