Idaho Covid Cases Increase 42% In One Week!

Gov. Whitmer is stuck between a rock and a hard place. Totals went down, she opened things back up, and now cases are rising. Like Fauchi said, don't spike the ball on the five yard line. Wait until you cross the goal line. All in all, she's done a good job here to keep Michiganders safe.

BTW- My BIL went to the ER yesterday for his foot and spent to whole day in a wheelchair waiting for a ER bed to open up. He got that today about 10am and still don't know if he'll be admitted. Seems the ER is really busy.

That's great Jim. I like that, thinking on your feet. My wife got the J and J vaccine kind of the same way. She called right when a large shipment was received in nearby Dearborn and they said come and get it. Wish I had gotten the J and J, too, not looking forward to my second dose of Moderna on April 7th.

So was it the half naked guy that was led away in handcuffs with a bloody leg? They said there was only one injury so must have been him. At least they took him alive and can maybe get some information out of him. If it is him he looks like a real dick, I wouldn't doubt it was something stupid like some coed dissed him and he got all butt hurt. Just speculating here. So ten people died including a cop, I guess that's nothing. Assault rifles for all!

He just had a mouthpiece here, was very vocal, and by his own actions and antics on this forum he was banned. Kind of like his hero Trump so I’m sure he wears it as a badge of honor.

Lumber Prices. Spiking??

Posted By Jim Moscheck

I wish the equipment forums here were more popular, 15 years ago you could ask a question and get answers pronto. Not so much anymore. I used to go by my real name on CN, but changed it a few years ago for privacy reasons. Still, I think back to a very long thread in the eyepiece section before I "discovered" astromart. I had sold a 24mm Panoptic to a guy who has become a fellow club member and he wanted info on the eyepiece as it didn't work too well in his homemade dob. Turned out he had never noticed coma before in his newt as he only used narrow field EPs up to that point. He thought the eyepiece might have been taken apart and put together wrong. I'm sure that EP ended up costing him a lot more than he actually paid since he bought a Paracorr to correct the coma and more wide field EPs to go with it after all the advice he got here.

Back on topic, I have a bunch of woodworking project lined up for this spring and need to buy some more wood. I'm redoing our hot tub enclosure and I bought and made the cedar sides/doors last fall and even then the lumber was expensive. Oh well.

Redfield: Covid Escaped From A Lab

From the article itself:

All this will do is provide fuel and fodder for the right-wing anti-vaccination fever swamp. They are already switching their attacks from "stop the steal," since that fizzled out as a meaningful political bludgeon and are now focusing on anti-vaccination rhetoric.
Another reason I think Trump is such a dummy. For nine month he touted his "warp speed" vaccine program, that no one but he could make it happen, and now that's it's here and is pretty much a success he ignores it and in turn implies to his devoted flock that's he's really against the vaccines. Nevermind that he secretly got the shot in January or what he said on Maria Bartolomeo's show(besides, according to Q that was an imposter pretending to be Trump). Like I said early in the pandemic all he needed to do was make red MAGA masks, encourage their use, and his sheeple would have bought them in droves, the pandemic wouldn't have been as bad with many less deaths, and he would have probably been reelected in a landslide. He's not a smart man.

You guys are arguing semantics. No, it's not specifically labeled as an assault weapon, but it is popularly used as one in these mass shootings.

Whatever, make it harder for crazy people to buy one. License them like you do with a driver's license after you pass the required training and then insure them like you have to with your car.

Lumber Prices. Spiking??

Posted By Jim Moscheck

I'm at a big lull in my buying and selling of equipment and I pay the $15 fee here mostly to be aggravated by the rightie tighties on this lone forum. The rest of the forums are mostly dead. That said I don't think I'd pay a fee for the privilege to participate on CN. I no longer inhabit the equipment forums as the same topics are posted over and over and I got tired of typing the same things, over and over. No one seemingly knows how to search for previously discussed topics. I do look at the OT forum and post occasionally, but that's getting old, too.

Matt Gaetz says he's under federal investigation for sexual misconduct

Posted By Jim Moscheck

He’s says it’s “unclear and he’s been told very little.” I guess that’s what you get for cooperating with an FBI investigation on extortion, right? Always thought he looked slimy.

https://www.axios.com/matt-gaetz-sexual-misconduct-investigation-2755fd4f-f72e-4283-b8ac-9233c952b914.html

“The big picture: Gaetz, 38, said the specifics of the allegations are "unclear," and he said he's been told "very little." But the New York Times reported late Tuesday afternoon that the Justice Department is investigating Gaetz "over whether he had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old and paid for her to travel with him."

"The allegations of sexual misconduct against me are false," Gaetz told Axios. "They are rooted in an extortion effort against my family for $25 million … in exchange for making this case go away."
Gaetz sent Axios screenshots of text messages, emails and documents outlining the alleged extortion scheme, which he claimed was being run by a former DOJ employee. The Justice Department declined to comment.
Sounding shaken, Gaetz said that for weeks, he and his father been working with the FBI in the Northern District of Florida on the extortion case. Gaetz said his lawyers were informed by the Justice Department that "I was not a target but a subject of an investigation regarding sexual conduct with women."

Asked what the charges could relate to, Gaetz said: "I have definitely, in my single days, provided for women I've dated. You know, I've paid for flights, for hotel rooms. I’ve been, you know, generous as a partner. I think someone is trying to make that look criminal when it is not."
Gaetz said he was "absolutely" confident none of the women were underage.”
