Democrats Hold 11-point lead Over GOP on Generic Ballot: Poll

Posted By Rod Kaufman

"A national survey from Emerson College Polling found 53 percent of voters sided with the generic Democrat, up 3 points from last month, while 42 percent sided with the Republican, up 2 points from last month."

"Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling, noted female voters break for the Democratic candidate by a 27-point margin, “driving the Democrats’ significant lead on the ballot.” Men were more split, siding with the Democratic candidate by a 5-point margin."

"Pollster Nate Silver’s averages show Democrats with a 6-point lead, putting the party at 48 percent support to Republicans’ 42 percent."

It'll be interesting to see if this trend holds up with more progressive candidates prevailing in the party.

Delusional or cognitive impairment or a combo of both?

Fauci, the lying sack of sh** Democrat hero pleads the 5th after claiming just days before., that he has nothing to hide, and that he will answer every question, but just like all Democrats, he did lie and invoked the 5th 111 times. He fooled every d

Our leading example of national dementia, Donald Trump, has once again disavowed reality by denying the consensus of our intelligence community that Iran is behind the recent series of cyberattacks on the water management systems in a number of states and, instead, insists it's the fault of Tim Walz. (Rich Davis believes that, too)

That said, I'm glad I masked during the pandemic and I continue to get a covid booster, along with my flu shot, as an annual preventive measure. Of course, that's also assuming RKF jr and his wormhole of a brain doesn't attempt to stop it from happening.

In Richie's case, though, I think he shouldn't be mad at Fauci, he should be mad at his sister who reportedly convinced him to get an initial covid vaccination because his brother wound up in a hospital bed in Texas due to covid but, according to him, was miraculously saved by Ivermectin!
Richie, however, learned his lesson and never got a covid booster after that and got covid instead. I wonder how many others he infected along the way...

I doubt Fauci was intentionally lying in his statements.  I think they reflected the massive convolution of problems accompanying the covid freight train barreling down the tracks at the time of the pandemic. In addition to the worldwide death rates, overrun hospitals, lack of staff and personnel and the like, there was and still is a myriad of right wing extremist misinformation regarding the pandemic and in the midst of all of it, Fauci disagreed with the Wuhan lab theory, considered it to be a conspiracy theory, and expounded his viewpoints about it in such a manner that, between his public statements and those in his personal diary, they can now be construed as a deliberate attempt to deceive and lie about the origins of covid.

Given the complexities of the problems and issues surrounding the pandemic, I can see why he chose to invoke his fifth amendment rights given the zeal of the Rand Paul crowd to crown him as a scapegoat for all that went wrong during the pandemic. It's obvious Rand Paul and company were/are out to get the guy, one way or another.

US Drops Case Against Olympian Accused Of Damaging Reflecting Pool

Posted By Rod Kaufman

"The Justice Department moved Friday to dismiss a criminal case charging a former Olympian with deliberately damaging the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, saying evidence prosecutors had recently received refuted the idea that vandals were to blame."

"Government lawyers said in a 20-page court filing that additional documents provided by the Interior Department since the indictment of David Hearn show that the damage was the result of a botched installation by a contractor as well as “the rush to complete the project prior to events associated with the America 250 celebration in the weeks surrounding Independence Day 2026.” In addition, a recent visual inspection revealed damage throughout the pool, including in the middle — where prosecutors say a vandal would not likely attempt to peel the lining."

In any case if an obviously humorous trolling post were held to be libelous by any court, can you imagine the backlog of new cases?  It boggles the mind.

I am sure we have all noticed how Trump resorts to litigation, threats of litigation, and so on, whenever his ego is bruised.  Sorry to see that tactic employed here.

By the way, notice how some folks call others "snowflakes" or worse on forums like these, but then take unreasonable umbrage if they are personally the target of a minor tease?  It is odd behavior at best.  Reminds me of one of my all time favorite South Park Episodes where Cartman, who is a legendary bully, demands "safe spaces" from any teasing directed to him at all.  The musical number is Emmy worthy.  You can watch it here, after an ad of course:

Capital One Says It Closed Trump Organization Accounts Over Money-Laundering Concerns

Posted By Rod Kaufman

"Capital One bank has asked a federal judge to dismiss a lawsuit from the Trump Organization over the closure of hundreds of bank accounts back in 2021, arguing in new papers that the shutdowns were the product of a monthslong anti-money-laundering review — not retaliation for the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, as the Trump family businesses have claimed."

"In a motion to dismiss the case filed Friday in a Florida federal court, Capital One's lawyers wrote that the bank's own filings and the Trump businesses' allegations "make clear that Capital One closed Plaintiffs' accounts for anti-money laundering ('AML'wink reasons."

Capital One or the Trump family businesses, whom to believe?...
