Cultural Sensitivities and Honor Killings

Posted By Rod Kaufman

Are beheadings committed as action of an "honor killing", pursuant to one's religious beliefs, an act of domestic violence or explained and/or defended as an act of consciousness and religious conviction?
There appears to be conflicting arguments in regards to the recent beheading in Buffalo New York:
http://www.thestar.com/News/World/article/587925
As per the comments in the following links, it appears the beheading, albeit performed by a "moderate muslim" was, in fact, an honor killing, pursuant to the perpetrator's religious beliefs. If so, could this be an appropriate defense from a charge of first degree murder?
Consider the following explanations:
http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/Read.aspx?GUID=BE00813B-1F68-4DA8-9AF3-A42B7AB8515A
As noted in the link, the perpetrator would get only a "light" sentence for his offense in several countries. Should it be the same in the states where we understand and project "cultural diversity"?
If you don't think so, then consider the differences between honor killings and domestic violence:

Another article provides further analysis that the beheading in Buffalo New York, was, in fact, an honor killing:

Finally, we have confirming evidence as noted in the following "Islamic Rage Boy" link, click on it and play the you-tube video:

We do need to be culturally sensitive to those with varying beliefs, do we not?...

The Rodney Dangerfield Syndrome

Posted By Rod Kaufman

We often don't hear about the happenings in the rest of the world in our own MSM. Recently, large riots broke out in India over a published article from a respected author that many deemed offensive. So much so, the editors of the newspaper that published it, were, in fact, arrested. Anybody hear about it?
I didn't think so.
It appears the rioteer's didn't get no respect, and the Rodney Dangerfield syndrome infected many of the participants:

A Religion of Peace

Is Geert Wilders a case of "shooting the messenger" because you don't like the message?

I think that's the message from this article in the Wall Street Journal. What do you think?
Or, should the religion of peace be taken at its face value, that is, it is what it claims to be and can't be challenged by a mere mortal?

Islamic Violence vs Judeo-Christian Violence

Posted By Rod Kaufman

From reading some of these threads as well as others in the popular press, it is often stated that there is no difference between violent action advocated in the Koran and in other Islamic texts as compared to what has been collectively called Judeo-Christian mediated violent action recorded throughout history.
After reading the following article, it appears the latter is not the case:

An interesting and troubling perspective...

What Is Islamophobia?

Posted By Rod Kaufman

Islamification differs from Islamophobia but it is the latter that appears to bother some of the posters in this forum.
Perhaps a discussion of Islamophobia is in order beginning with important aspects of the equation:
http://www.thereligionofpeace.com/Pages/Islamophobia.htm
Let me see, it's "fear-mongering", "cherrie-picked", "closer to Christianity"(boy, that's a doozy), "the Quran really doesn't say that"(it really does), etc
An example of the aforementioned:
