Who else sees black dots cross the moon?

Posted By Dominique Dierick

Hi,

if you have a dvix decoder, you can watch this film I made last week.

It is a stack of two sessions of a few consecutive frames taken at 15fps with a TOA130 and 2x barlow lens.
After many many discussions locally with amateurs and pro's, more or less certain the experts came up with an explanation: it was most likely a distant balloon of the Gordon-Bennett race !

Full Moon mosaic : 1st Feb

my god, I though *I* had patience... I use a DMK41AF camera for my mosaics, I can image what it would be with a 21AF ! Excellent work!

Paul,

If you e.g. say exposure time is 1/15s and you ask for 30fps, you will have 50%
double images, this is how it works...

IR Cut vs IR Pass Filter? (for Mars)

Posted By Dominique Dierick

I would go with a plain red filter. Works suffiently ok for Mars.

Nice image Alan !

Unfortunately clouded out here except for a small break where I could make one widefield
image.

Hopefully tomorrow will be clear (but little hope).
