Re: Do nothing Dem congress

It might actually work to McCain`s advantage.

It`s likely that...as someone who has worked with the other side over the yrs. as well as McCain has...that a lot of stuff would pass...but probably not too much stuff!

Otoh... 8)

Candidates' space policies

Posted By Jim E. Gleason

Maurice Clark said:

Hi all,

The Planetary Society has put the space policies of both candidates on their website. Makes for some interesting reading.

From a quick skim, it looks like BO has more detail and less of sweeping, general statements, but both claim that space exploration is important to them. I just wonder if either of them will actually be prepared to fund NASA fully.

Maurice

It`s just too bad that Hill`s out of the race...she`s one of us...an amateur astronomer...and dreamed of being the 1st female astronaut when she was a little girl!

There`s even a children`s book out based on her dream to be an astronaut! 8)

McCain, US News & World Report, May 14, 1973

The entire 12,000 word article about McCain's POW experience is here:

http://www.usnews.com/articles/news/2008/01/28/john-mccain-prisoner-of-war-a-first-person-account.html

It is a long read, and left me with really mixed emotions. I can't imagine enduring what he went through, nor can I imagine coming out of it without emotional and psychological damage. No matter what your political inclinations, it is worth reading, IMO.

Regards,

Steve

WOW!!...Thanks!...imho, it`s an excellent article...a bit long, but well-written...

No "Biden Bump" for Obama

Latest poll does not bode well for Obama:

I suspect McCain will pick Mitt Romney and continue to pull the republican party together. I think the democrats have now lost the election.

Imho, he should be up by at least 10 pts. in a yr. like this one...yet, so far, he went from a slight lead to being tied in many polls...and has fallen behind in the all-important electoral votes in many polls!...suddenly down in Ohio, 48-43...down in Flor. by 2...and has just about given up on his 50-state and Southern state strategies...and, on top of that, he lost 9% more of Hillary supporters!...I call it a bounce alright...but for McCain!...

Consequently, the JSND coalition membership is growing by far at it`s fastest rate ever!...We`ll happily give BO an assist for that...since he appears to like basketball so much!...we never could`ve gotten them that fast without his help! 8O wink 8)

You want to know what McCain thinks, "read his books"!
Geez, you want a guy like this to be your president?...

Not going to read the article...but we already know that McCain doesn`t answer this way the vast majority of the time...from what I`ve seen, he gets into the level of detail only required at any given time!...and that is something to be desired in a President...not someone who gives long, drawn-out 20 min. answers to simple questions!

Besides, we`ll know more than we ever wanted about both candidates by election day...the debates and 24/7 news cycle will see to that...McCain knows this.

Different eyes see different things. I'm not impressed. But she does read a teleprompter well and I'm sure has the best speech writers money can buy. Maybe she used her oil rebate check(s).

I understand that much of her speech was given without a teleprompter...because it broke down at one point in the middle of the speech.

OBAMA - A GAFFE MACHINE - Dozens of Them!!!

Jim, after following your link and pondering your point, I think I figured out the real reason McCain chose Palin. She's from an out of the way state, she's had only a fraction of the TV time the other guys have had... therefore, it will be a lot harder for your left wing counterparts to post a Palin Gaffe link. McCain on the other hand... how many houses was it again?

About That Foreign Policy Experience!

"...So why then, when Palin was asked recently on a interview about being the Commander of the Alaskan National Guard, she was unsure?..."

Unsure?...Are you sure?...Unsure of what?...sorry but I don`t believe you...but, as everyone should know, her 1st interview as the R VP nom., that means anything, is coming up later this week.

Funny you mention trolls...since you`re one of those posters here who no one can really be certain when you`re being serious or just applying that dry sense of humor of yours!...until this changes, as far as I`m concerned, you`ll continue to have credibility problems at times!

I do like your sense of humor, tho.

"...Also, I'm quite sure that if the 49th has a bogey on the scopes, they will call NORAD long before checking with Palin by channeling the call through Karl Rove and the lobbyists running the crooked campaign..."

Maybe...maybe not...the Alaskan Nat. Guard is mostly an Independent unit...and as such, acts mostly on it`s own under the orders of the Alaskan Gov.

"...Ok, start on your next mudball..."

These are not mudballs...they are, however, the cleaning up of mudballs and smears from the left.

"...I can hit that squarely for a kinetic kill too..."

Whatever!...LOL...

I`ve got the whole JSND archive full of dozens of BO`s Gaffes...and just posted part of it a few days ago... 8)

As for puppet strings, if you really believe such things, imagine Nancy Pelosi pulling BO`s puppet strings...seeing how she also paid off SD`s to buy the D nom. for the Fraud...just remember, she`s out to save the world!...how nice and thoughtful of her... 8O wink

Btw, the concensus among many former Dems. now...is that BO is the DNC`s puppet...and has been all along...part of the reason all these former Dems. left the party in the 1st place and are now Inds.

Palin's "baby" really her grandson???

Posted By Jim E. Gleason

Jake Jacobson said:

I really thought this was just one of those silly internet rumors, but I started looking into it today and there definitely is some compelling reasons to suggest that Sarah Palin's baby is really her daughter's baby, and the birth was covered up.

1.) Sarah's "announcement" that she was pregnant at supposed 7 months of term was a suprise to her staff.
2.) In all photos of Sarah during her "pregnancy", she appears fit and trim. In photos from same period, her daughter clearly has a tummy bulge.
3.) The last five months of Sarah's "pregnancy", her daughter was absent from school for a "severe case of mono" - the oldest excuse in the world for a pregnant teen.
4.) All photos on the Alaska State Department's official website that show Sarah Palin and her family have been taken down.
5.) Sarah Palin's water broke while she was attending a conference in Texas. She then proceeded to give a 30-minute speech before taking an 11-12 hour flight home to Alaska to give birth.

What say ye all? A cover-up in an election year, or simply a rumor?

A rumor which has been debunked here already in what is now an older post and thread...
