When it comes to bankrupting the US - that was already accomplished by Bush and "Deficits don't count" Cheney. Obama and Congress has simply dug the hole deeper.

Why don't you stop being disingenuous and just title the thread "Obama's plan was to bankrupt the US". After all, it's the point it seems you're trying to make.

As irrational as the Iranian "leadership" can appear to be, I very much doubt that for all of their bluster that they will do anything to provoke an actual attack. The last thing they want to do is hand us a pretext to level their nuclear facilities and to instigate a regime change.

As it stands right now - most definitely. Santorum would also be acceptable. Romney strikes me as a typical establishment Republican - sort of dubya II - but smarter. Not interested in seeing a repeat of 2000-2008.

Look, SS is broke, tapped out, busted. It's a great idea but its been expanded waaaaay beyond it's original intent. It's way too generous. The very jobs that were necessary to fund the system have been exported. The litany of woes goes on and on but at the end of the day the numbers just don't work - unless you're a Washington pol.
The real killer is that many of the people on it are actually dumb enough to think that they're simply collecting what they put in - plus a little interest. "It's ours. WE EARNED it." Friggin unbelievable. Unfortunately, unless they plan on dying by 69 or 70, it simply isn't the case.
As someone who benefits from this idiocy let me say this: Thanks for the money, but you folks are nuts. Money for nothin and the chicks are free. It just doesn't get any better.
