Hi,

Another image from 11/05/04 a night of very good seeing

Fra Mauro the largest is a walled plain, Bonpland the 2nd largest is also a walled plain and Parry the 3rd largest is designated as a crater.
There are some interesting rille in this image too

Starmaster 18", DMK-21F04 Firewire camera imaging at 30FPS,stack of 700 frames from 1800.

Lunar Crater Guericke

Hi,

The high sun angle illuminated the floor of the
crater very well.
This is one of the craters that Ranger 7 photographed
on July 31 1964 as it was crashing into the moon.

Gassendi was one of the proposed landing sites for the canceled Apollo 18 mission, imagine how great that would have been.

The terraced walls of Aristarchus are interesting.

Fra Mauro Apollo 14 landing site

Hi,

About two weeks ago I posted an image of Fra Mauro and the
Apollo 14 landing site was just out of the field of view to the North, today I was looking through some more AVI's and I found one showing the area to the North of Fra Mauro that has the landing site.
I studied some maps and images from some Apollo web sites and I feel reasonably certain the tip of the red arrow in the image is very close to the landing site, if anyone wants to check this out please do so because I could be wrong.
North is to the left of the image.

Beautiful and very! detailed, I would say I prefer the Crepe ring version but they are both great.
